Not the stand up type....I'm talking about the "Bamf", "SMASH" and "Pow" comic books. A place where like minded saddos/geniuses/ 11yr olds can talk about the latest releases. Or just a place that MM can quote Oaf....or perhaps I've got that wrong!

Anyway, this thread is inspired by the news that Valiant have struck a deal to turn a few of their comics into films/tv programmes. Looking forward to seeing whatever they do with Archer and Armstrong...brilliant comic imo.

Read the entire "Blackest Night" event early and I have to say, it's one of the better crossovers of recent years. The odd poor issue but otherwise pretty solid. I'll probably read "Brightest Day" next.

Pah, nobody dies in comic books. With a movie coming out next year, he'll be back before you can say Chimichanga.

Valiant Comics is bringing two of its properties to the theater courtesy of a five-picture deal with Sony, and John Wick directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski will direct the first of two Bloodshot films. The John Wick directors tackling anything is good news, and Bloodshot - a vengeance-seeking super soldier - feels like a perfect fit. They'll be working from a screenplay by Kick-Ass 2's Jeff Wadlow alongside Eric Heisserer, previously of Final Destination 5, The Thing remake and the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.

The other Valiant property getting the two-movie treatment is Harbinger, about a group of superpowered psionic teens, and a fifth film titled Harbinger Wars is intended to bring the two properties together. Heisserer is also writing Harbinger, but no directors have been announced yet. The whole shebang will be produced by Fast and Furious and 21 Jump Street team Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe along with Valiant's Dinesh Shamdasani and Sony's Andrea Giannetti.

Met Dan Slott yesterday at Forbidden Planet. He signed my Spider-Verse graphic novel. Nice bloke.

End of story.

Haha, I've never had the "pleasure" of seeing them but I can imagine! SoC may be the man to shed more light on those comics.
