Wealdstone 2-0 Hayes and Yeading (Att: 796)

Strange game, they were awful and if we had carried on playing our game for the final half hour we could have scored a couple more at least. Instead for reasons unknown we decided to turn into a crock of shite. Anyway, Jefferson (somebody love me) Louis set up the first goal with a ball across goal which the keeper parried straight onto Matt Ball's head. Louis then scored our second and it was a cracking strike to be fair, brushed off Hayes' laughably bad #2 before curling the ball 25 yards into the far corner.

Scott Davies was outstanding on his debut, hopefully his remaining performances with us are of a similar standard. Tricky game for us at Hemel on Tuesday night against a side who will be looking for a win to boost their aim of making a play-off spot. A local game for all of us (my nearest of the season) so should be an excellent turnout from ourselves.

Sutton went crazy tonight and won 2-1 away at Hemel. Dan Fitchett with another brace. Exciting times
Fitchett is going well for your lot I see. Can't believe the Football Genius that is Andy Scott didn't give him a good run given we are desperate for goals. Man's a fucking buffoon.

Point away at Gosport isn't too sad, but considering we were two up it is slightly disappointing. We played some cracking stuff in the first half, Theo Lewis is really making a difference in the middle. His link up play is excellent. Nathan Ashmore kept them in it with a string of fine saves.

As soon as we went two up we sat back a little and invited Gosport on us. Their second was a beauty and they could have got all three points at the end but for the bar.

Probably about 150 of us down there, which isn't too bad.

Back in Trophy action on Tuesday. First home game in what seems like an age!

No, they weren't. I didn't see anywhere on the pitch where it was obvious that it was frozen over however you could hear the clacking of boots and that's never a good sign. As for the game, well we were all at sea defensively for the first 15 minutes, Hemel should have been 5-0 up. Very simple attacking game from them, shoot within 25 yards, get the ball out wide and use their massive number 9 to get on the end of the crosses.

As the game wore on however we started to get into the ascendancy and could have had a couple back ourselves before HT. I was in the bar when some fellow supporters said the game was abandoned, I went outside thinking they were on the wind-up yet low and behold players were standing around the front entrance. Hemel's manager Dean Brennan totally lost it with someone, still don't know if it was Bartlett or the referee. Our players and management team came and applauded the 250-300 Stones supporters there, phenomenal turnout by the way. Hemel's drummer (automatically a cnut for having a drum) started chanting "Same old Wealdstone, always cheating" which was met with a reply by most of the supporters singing "4-3, we're gonna win 4-3!" A definite get out of jail card and if the shoe had been on the other foot, I'd be livid however our 11 match unbeaten streak in the league goes on and I must admit I was laughing upon leaving the ground. Up the Stones!

How is Luke O'Nien doing?

Not the biggest but certainly puts himself about and likes a shot or two.

He's our best outfield player by a country mile, not afraid to get stuck in and always gives 100%. I can't fault anything on his game at this level, obviously he has more time to make decisions at this level compared to the Championship but his vision, range of passing and shooting ability are top draw.

The re-arranged game with Hemel will take place on Tuesday 17th February with a reduced admission price of £6. That's a great gesture from Mr. Boggins and with it being half-term week could see a bumper crowd.

Tuesday night's gate was announced as 624 which was laughable as there was at least another 200 in the ground, minimum.

I almost made the trip to Hemel the night after I'd been at Kingstonian when their game was postponed a couple of minutes before kick-off. I did chuckle when I saw the score.

I'm shocked he's had to move down to this level (and even lower with Dunstable Town before) given his good potential as a youngster. I remember Brendan Rodgers claiming he was going to be our main player in a few years time after a MOTM performance he had in a friendly against Chelsea, sadly that could turn out to be the highlight of his career. He even started the season keeping our other academy graduate Gylfi Sigurdsson out of the team, they moved in very different directions since! Though even then he had already proved himself very capable in the Conference Nationals as a 19/20 year old on loan at Aldershot, so weird that now 26 he has only just moved up to the Conference South level. Hope he's a success for you, never like to see promising youngsters fail, especially as he didn't really seem to have a bad attitude.

Hard to gauge his performance at Hemel on Tuesday night due to the frozen pitch and our reactive style of play. I also missed yesterday, speaking of which...

Wealdstone 1-3 Weston-Super-Mare (Att: 600)

So having conceded 3 goals within 13 minutes on Tuesday night, you'd think we would have learnt our lesson, right? Wrong, 3 down within half an hour and it's really fucking me off. 3 of the 4 in our defence yesterday are nowhere near good enough and they need to be gone in the summer. Sean Cronin scored the 3rd penalty of the match to make it 3-1 at the start of the second half but as usual we can't put pressure on a team who are desperately lacking in confidence.

North London derby, Watford and QPR at home contributed to our lowest gate of the season, any more slow starts and they'll drop further.

Scotty's a lovely lad, way to laid back and easy going for the life of a lower league footballer. Struggles with his fitness a bit too, but a very talented lad, I spent the last six months trying to persuade him to come back to us. Hope he does well for you.

What's the script with relegation in the Conf South this season, given that it's running with 21 teams? I'm desperately hoping that Farnborough stay up as playing them is the only remotely interesting thing that will happen if/when we get relegated, but they seem to lose heavily almost every week...

Two down this season. Farnborough may very well be saved by Staines' ineptitude and Hayes possibly going bust. Shame as Farnborough really are a horrible club.

One thing I've learned from following football in and around the M4/M3 area is that people really don't like Farnborough very much.

Fuck Farnborough.

So after losing 6-0 to Bromley, Staines massive come here and only just lose 3-2. We were comfortable first half but made it easy for them. Gifted them a goal and then it was nervy.

Won the 50/50 for the first ever time, but only as part of a group so only got a small amount. Profit is profit though.

Bring on Stortford.

That's because Farnborough are a joke club. Started late in 13/14, after the whole Paddy Power/player name change stunt, and always seem to be on the verge of going bust only 8 years after Farnborough Town went bust. Oh, and it seems as though they don't have training.....

I bought my current car in Farnborough. Seemed a pleasant enough place although getting out of one of the retail parks in the town was an absolute ball ache. The club are a total parody, who could have foreseen that things would go wrong when they went shit or bust again!?

Hemel have converted one of their terraced ends into seating so that end will be shut when we (re)visit on Tuesday night. Several hundred supporters (home and away) at one end of the ground... I'm vehemently against it normally but I think segregation might be a smart idea here, just in case there is any needle.

Needle between Hemel and Stones? Shouldn't this be in the tinpot thread?

The best thing about Farnborough is the drive-through McDonalds.

If it does happen they yes, I shall post in there. To be fair we've had home supporters in the same end as ourselves this season and no trouble has erupted so I have no reason to assume there should be on Tuesday. All we got from the abandoned game was a few accusations that we forced the game off.

Staines Town 1-2 Wealdstone (Att: 418)

One more win and we'll be playing Conference South football next season. Micky Corcoran and Luke O'Nien put us two to the good at HT before a Staines penalty halved the arrears with some 15 minutes to go. I wasn't there so can't really pass comment but from what I've read on Twitter and on Stonesnet we were outstanding in the first half and sat too deep in the second which caused us to bypass the midfield yet again. Kinda shows how bad this league is when a team such as ourselves can gain 26 points from our past 13 league games.

Poor result for us. Deserved to lose.

Defensively, we're shocking at the moment. Going forward we look threatening. If we can sort out our defensive frailties then we will be very hard to beat.

605 at Stortford. Probably near on half were us. At least 200 were there anyway. Not sure of their usual crowds.

Bromley at home Tuesday. Don't turn up, we will get dicked. Big time. Fancy us to have a good game though and win - 2-0.

It was Stortford's highest gate of the season. One of the ex-Fleet players will score for Bromley, book it.

Fair enough. I'd imagine there was 250-300 of us but it's always hard to tell, especially with us!

Cookie will have an absolute field day against us if our defence doesn't turn up - Ben May may even score!

It'll be an interesting evening, that's for sure. The pitch will suit both sides. We have to get the win really if we want to finish in the play offs - we're six adrift at the minute.

Can't afford to lose any more than 3 games IMO. Luckily for us it is kind of in our own hands as we have to play most of the sides above us!
