[Who Needs Mourinho]

Sometimes you don't know exactly who you can bring in. Even more so this summer. We did the sensible thing, covered ourselves. As it looks at the moment, Bell would struggle to get on the bench. Don't forget in the National League the window never shuts, we could bring another forward in further down the line if we feel we're lacking. We don't want loads of players sat in the stands doing nothing.

Lloyd maybe similar to Williams, I don't know Williams enough but we need a winger for both sides. Two tricky wing options helps the balance of the team.

Agreed. None of our attacking players are slouches but apart from Reid you wouldn’t describe any as having out and out pace so a speed merchant on the right would be handy.

Woods would be a great signing in the North and is absolutely on brand for Going For It ™ York City, his form was incredibly spotty for Pools, would have an excellent game one week then be anonymous for the next 5.

Adam Smith has now resigned from forest green. Happy with that, was decent for us on loan last year and is an upgrade on Nelson, who had become a little unreliable.

We had him on loan in 2012 and he did his ACL vs Tranmere. I think he's had a fair few serious injuries since then which means he never realised his potential.

Not sure how the option works. I’m told that you have to offer at least the same terms as they are on and should they leave you receive a few. To lose both of the above would be a wretch as they were our best two players of the season.

My only question would be why have we signed Bell to a one-year new deal but now we are happy to loan him out for the whole of that deal?

Lloyd must be off the table as Williams is a very similar player.

Williams and Lloyd (what the hell has happened to him?!) were completely different types of wingers when they played for us.

Williams is a solid, hard working, grafter type. The one who'll do his defensive duties and not particularly tricky going forward.

Think it was more a tactical problem,we play wing backs and could not find a place for him.looked good but would not work hard enough.He used to get last 20 mins and looked quality but every time he started did nothing.
At Alty looked good and scored for fun but in a different system.
So hopefully you don’t play wing backs.

That's about six players I've seen labelled the "best right back in the division last season". For what it's worth, ours was the best I saw by some distance.

He did really well for us, his finishing is his biggest asset, helped get us promoted. He only payed 8 hours on the pitch but scored 6 but in a side that creates a lot. I wish him well, fulltime football just down the road from his home no brainer really.

Tom Whelan has been released by us, not a great surprise. He spent most of last season on loan at the Muff so it wouldn't be a shock if he signed for them permanently.
