The final is Independiente Santa Fe vs Huracan. Huracan has done well to get to the final. I certainly did not expect them to get this far. Santa Fe in the final is hardly a shock, even though I thought Emelec would beat them, Santa Fe are indeed a good side and they are my pick to win the whole thing. Huracan have good away form but I don't know if they will be able to do it in the altitude of Bogota, even if its not that bad of altitude, it still will be very difficult for them to get a result in Colombia.

I'm happy Riverplate went out last night. Been coming for them for playing appalling football all year. I'm also getting sick of them winning everything. That said though I would like them to win the CWC. Doubt they'll win it though seeing as Barcelona are getting back into form and Riverplate are playing awful stuff at the moment.

The first leg ended 0-0. The first half was pretty boring, second half was decent.

The first half was just a bunch of Huracan long balls. They looked like a lower league English side. The second half actually had chances. Seijas was probably the worst player of the match in my opinion. He was slow in the attack, wasted a lot of chances and looked incompetent defensively. Abila I thought was pretty good but he lacked one very important thing and that was his finishing.

The standard of yesterdays match was seriously low especially for a South American final. The finishing was absolutely dreadful. This year has been disappointing for continental South American football. The Libertadores this year was horrible standard and entertainment wise, this years Sudamericana hasn't been that good either. A bit more entertaining than the Libertadores though this year. However the standard of last nights match disappointed me.

Bit late on this, but i played some football in Bogota when I was there and I was dead after like 5 mins. It's high enough to make a big difference unless you've had some time to train/adjust

My point was though that its not quite the altitude of La Paz or Cusco, although if that's the case Huracan will have a very tough time.

Yeah it's not La Paz or Cusco, but the difference between Lima and Bogota is very noticeable when trying to play football, not sure where Huracan are from but if it's an altitude similar to Lima then it's definitely going to affect them.

EDIT: Just checked and Buenos Aires is 34m compared to Bogota's 2,640m (according to google) so it's deffo going to affect them.

I'm happy Santa Fe won that final but they are such a dull side though. That was one of the worst finals I've ever seen.

If I'm correct, its the first time since 2011 that a team not from Argentina or Brazil won a CONMEBOL trophy.

I think it's even the first time a Colombian team win a Copa Sudamericana and the first international title of Santa Fé.

The match wasn't really what I was expecting for a finals' level but I also enjoyed Santa Fé getting it.
