Whereas null and void affects all 68 teams in the National leagues, who have spent time and plenty of money attempting to do their best since August. PPG has it's flaws, but it seems the least worst option left on the table.

Not forgetting as well, countless teams in steps 3 -7 who were fucked over by the FA, many of whom could have carried on playing after the easing of the lockdown, as social distancing would have been considerably easier. There are plenty of clubs whose average gates are double digits.

And those teams would be even MORE fucked over if they PPG finish the seasons in the National League, North and South don't you think?

Agreed, so the only fair way to settle it for everyone, is no team gets anything. No playoffs, no relegation, null and void, it’s not difficult, some people, fans, clubs hanging onto this tiny thread of hope that maybe we can do this, maybe behind closed doors in a month or two we can do that, just let it go, the season is done.

I wouldn't argue against that but the FL have so far stuck to two down and two up.
The only thing that has irritated me has been the National League just acting unilaterally to finish this season without either consulting the Football League or deciding how the standings conclude.

Which is why I'm against PPG, not that I even think the playing of playoff games would be possible it's a pipe dream, it isn't going to happen, but selfishly speaking we were three points off a playoff place with a host of bum teams left to play, four other teams were within 3/4 points of a spot, so they cancel fixtures (correct decision) denying us a chance to get in the playoffs, it's even more so galling for Stockport, like you mention, who would be kicked out of them, at the expense of Barnet and their potato field pitch.

Maidenhead were dropping like a stone through the league, PPG would see them safe though, at the expense of two teams in Ebbsfleet and Fylde who despite having a stinker of a season had found their feet in recent games, you can't remove fixtures from teams, then send them down using a formula.

PPG is straight up garbage, more teams are adversely affected by it than gain from it.
I agree to a point because it doesn't take into account the variables in the remaining games, but whilst you'll have a team or two who move into PO contention and one or two who'll nosedive into relegation contention, that's, at most, a handful of teams. 37 or 38 games completed is a very good gauge of how the season is going to end up at the top and bottom. It's not an exact science and I appreciate that, but it doesn't sit comfortably with me that the shite in a division, and I'm talking up and down the pyramid not just the NL, get a reprieve and those who have good seasons are punished via a null and void. If we had only got to match day 20, 25 then fair enough, I could understand it a bit more but not at this late stage.

Another mooted suggestion was freezing the league table at the matchday of the lowest played team(s) i.e. Barnet are on 35 so they'd reverse results of the other teams and put everyone on 35 games and do it from there. I don't think that's a way forward either.

Ultimately, it's about finding the best scenario in a group of bad ones and IMO null and void is comfortably the worst of the lot by a mile.

Null and void also raises issues about financial ripples of that decision. Do player and club fines still stand? Away travel costs for clubs reimbursed? Parachute payments for the likes of Yeovil and Notts, which have effectively been lost? They're highly unlikely to be reversed but if the season is null and void, surely everything should? There's a financial element to it as well just like in any other business.

Rumours that Barrow are going up to replace Bury and Chorley will go down with Wealdstone and Kings Lynn prompted, job done.

That would be nice - then putting Bury in NLN would wrap it all up... not that they will...

While they are at it. The season finished where Bury were in trouble, Notts got relegated. Bury couldn't start the season so L1 play with 23 teams.
Bury reform
Season declared null and void.
Bury get place back in League 1 as they never really left.
No one goes up or down

There we go job done

except they held the EFL AGM which is the cut off point which confirmed Notts and Yeovils relegation. They also held an EGM to confirm Bury's expulsion - as per EFL rule 5.3

"5.3 Subject to the provisions of the Articles of Association and these Regulations, The League may from time to time and upon such terms and conditions as it may think fit admit any Association Football club as a member or expel or accept the retirement of any member from The League provided always that no member may be expelled without the sanction of a special resolution passed at an Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting of The League. Any casual vacancy occurring in the membership of The League may be filled by the Board.

In what way? You can't fuck over the likes of South Shields, Vauxhall and Jersey any more than they already have been.

But that didn't happen as the current season from Mid may 2019 to present date hasn't happened. It's as though we are now back in 2019.

nope;- The season officially ends and decisions on promotion and relegation are ratified at the AGM. The AGM took place which means you were officially relegated and are not now currently an EFL team. IF the EFL season 2019/20 is then N+V your still not a member - but as a EGM kicked out Bury, neither are they and need replacing, but Notts have no legal or moral right to that place.
As can be heard in the leak from Bristol Rovers the L1 and L2 is unlikely to be restarted and will be finalised on footballing merit with promotion and no relegation. Which can only mean either based on current table or PPG, although realistically it only means PPG.

I leave this alone after this final comment.

The AGM and EGM took place on the basis that the 2019/20 season would take place, start on the correct date and be completed. Just leave the Notts part out of it, as that's not what I am getting at.
The 2019/20 season didn't take place and so any laws or decisions that were supposed to be implemented can be changed now as it hasn't impacted on the season as it could be declared null and void.
They could just turn around and say the season is null and void and we start 2020/21 season exactly how it is now team wise.

FWIW, Promote Barrow, don't relegate Stevenage and promote top in league 2.
AFWIW I wished they bloody hurry and get on with it as its getting boring very quickly.

That's all the fault of the previous Labour MP to be honest... he got expelled from the party and was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard....

And the people of Hartlepool did elect a Mayor whose main credential was that he dressed up as the Monkey that was hung as a French spy....

He was at least connected to the town, massive Poolie, club mascot and cared about the people.

Point still stands, elect a Tory, stay down here forever!

Kick Bury out, relegate Stevenage, promote Barrow, 2nd to 7th decided on points per game and play-off as per normal, except behind closed doors. Relegate Fylde by every and any means.

Problem? :dk:

You don't have to make excuses for electing a Conservative. They are a mainstream party with millions of supporters, many of them among Labour's "sacred" working class. Labour have got away with the "evil Tories" lie for too long now, but granted they have nothing else to offer in the way of "argument" - the Tories will eat your babies and rape your grandmother! It's pathetic, but that's who Labour are now, :ds:

Just when I think you’re becoming a worthwhile poster you come up with this. One can shred the Tories’ argument that they’re the responsible party who ensure political, economic and societal stability for the UK even more easily.

Anyway, I still think that they should have waited to complete the season, however long it took. Now that that option has been taken off, either option is as bad as each other.
if we end up with the same complement of clubs as this season that will be very dull. Staying in the NL would be much more bearable if Wealdstone and Stevenage are in it as well.

.............and Peter Mandelson. Going by the general election results logic, there aren't many northern sides that would qualify for promotion.

EDIT: Bugger, didn't read BT2Fs reply.
