Should have really won that comfortably and by a far greater goal margin. Defence is weak, Reda is a huge miss. Against better opponents we may struggle.

Although I am very happy with how things are going, I do worry about Armstrong, Kent and even Joe Cole going back in the coming months. However much I believe Mowbray has a replacement striker, they will not be as good as Armstrong.

Kent in fact has just been recalled to Liverpool on a 'temporary basis' so Klopp can have a look at him.

Unlike Armstrong, he is nowhere near ready to step up a league or two, but I feel Liverpool may want him on loan to a Championship side.

Apparently he might miss the next two games and then come back on a longer loan deal. Happy days.

Kent apparently hasn't been recalled, he is just training with Liverpool for a few days as he is not allowed to play in Saturdays FA Cup game.

Typical telegraph, couldn't wait to post a negative article after a win so much that they rushed and got it wrong it seems. There Wasps overlords will not be happy.

Weird game. We looked dead and buried at half time. Second half we got into second gear for the first time in about 2 months and Cov looked really nervous defensively, but we let Armstrong make it 3-1 then Joe Cole of all people scores a worldy of a free kick to kill us off just when I thought a bit of belief might be creeping into our players' minds. Should've had a penalty much earlier than the 94th minute but shit happens. Better than recent games but the reality is it's a 7th loss in a row and we're still in the bottom 4. Going to a good team and not being totally outplayed might just pick the players up a tiny bit though. There's talent there somewhere, they just need to be slightly less than completely shambolic and we'll break this horrific run of results.

Not sure about Cov, there's talent in midfield and up front but defensively very suspect, conceding 3 against us (including our first from open play for about 8 games) is not good on that front. Refreshing to hear a bit of an atmosphere at the Ricoh, that singing section in the corner made some decent noise.

I'd say it was probably our worse home performance of the season. It was crucial that on both occasions we struck back quickly to restore the 2 goal lead otherwise it would have been even more tense.

Injuries in defence are killing us at the moment, Reda out for the season and Willis ruled out for another 4 months meaning we are down to the bare bones and our keeper is very inexperienced as well having made only a handful of professional appearances. Today the Barnsley threat came from set pieces, crosses and long ball which is exactly the type of ball Reda eats for breakfast.

Mowbray is looking to draft in a centre half as soon as possible.

I'd agree with the set pieces bit, it's literally been the only way we've scored under Johnson as no-one is willing to have a shot when it opens up or attack balls into the box. We only got one from open play tonight because of your amateur defending, and I really do think a team that hadn't lost their previous 6 would have put a few more past you. No matter how poor you/we were, I've got to take the few positives in that we scored 3 against a team near the top and weren't complete and utter shit like we've been most of this season:ds:

Get Turner back and I will be happy. Phillips doesn't look good enough for me.

For sure, have a look at my first post after the match. I think we are fortunate to come up against a team low on confidence

We got a two goal lead early on without even really trying today and never got out of second gear for the whole match.

We need a centre half thats for sure. We were the better team but fair play to Barnsley for turning up in the second half. Murphy and Lameiras are not the best players to bring on to defend. Adam Armstrong is the best finisher at this club since Robbie Keane.
