Some have a few whilst others like us only have one (and that's not been played for a while!)

What have been your best and worse derby moments...

Best - 4-0 up inside half an hour at Luton in the 97/98 season summed up what was overall a great and very successful season. We could have hit a hatful.

Also winning in 2006 with 10 men when Mackay and Henderson scored before Ashley Young got sent off.

They didn't like that one bit!

Worse - Actually not seen us beat the Hatters at home in my lifetime (since 1992) - had to rely on a couple of last minute equalisers in the mid 90s and the 2001 Worthington Cup tie was a bad night on and off the pitch.

Beaten on the pitch 2-1 thanks in part to a wonder strike from Matty Spring and a lot of violence before the match with fans fighting on the pitch.

Not really a derby is it......there's very few true derbies in the game.

In recent seasons - both the Rovers JPT and Swindon game at AG have been belters...

Only because we won of course!

True - but then I don't think the more local teams like Arsenal/Spurs care about us and we've never played Stevenage/MK Dons in the league!

Best :
Difficult to chose from, beating the SoS at Wembley in the FA Cup semi final takes some beating, one of the biggest stages of all, only Alan Kelly prevented it being an absolute arseholing. There was the win in February 2012 that started our promotion run as well or the win at the Lane in 2009 which completed our first double in 95 years.

Worst:
1-3 at home in 92, we were going for the title and they just out fought us on our own patch with Bobby Davison netting twice.
Feyting a plenty that night.

Due to how bad the lot from Bedfordshire are I've never been to a derby (was banned from going to the one in 06 by my parents after what happened in 01). The 4-0 win at their place in 1998 is the best in my lifetime but I'm desperate to draw them in the cup so I can finally go to one.

Best: Only can be the 10 men for me. Goalkeeper Frank Fielding sent off in the first minute, Forest scoring from the resultant peno. Jamie Ward, Jeff Hendrick take a bow. Scenes. 2-1 winners.

Worst: There have been a couple of shit ones at Pride Park in recent years including Forest's first ever win there. The 5-2 at the CG was pretty horrible, I'll go with that one. Even fucking Tudgay scored a brace. Stephen Bywater was in goal for us. Horrid night.

Best: When we beat Villa 2-1 in the League Cup quarter final back in 2010. The fact that it took an eternity for the ball to loop in from the moment it left Zigic's foot made it even better. The scenes that night:fl:.

Worst: When they stuffed us 5-1 in the 07/08 season. That is one I'd like to swiftly forget.

Fairly obviously mine are the same on reverse order.

My first trip to PP was our first win there. Amazing.

This years last minute goal was special mind. Wasn't there but we had a good old piss up.

The 10 men was awful. Being 2 up and losing 3-2 on my 18th birthday was commons scoring the winner hurt a bit.

Best, beating Walsall 0-3 and some angry fan trying to attack Dicko last season in L1 was pretty funny.

Worst, Losing to Walsall for our first defeat in the league, when in reality we could have lost by 5. Maybe losing to Albion 5-1 too

For us I don't really know who we can include, Wycombe is our county rival but they're so far away it's hardly one both teams care about, whereas Northampton are our most local team and that never really amounts to anything. Our main Rival that you will see us go on about IMO is Posh, and considering the only overly good game we've had against them was this February when we stuffed them 3-0 it says a lot about our record v them.
Some bad ones include THAT play-off semi final in 2011 and the game in 13/14 where we lost with 2 men more, horrible team and a horrible ground

You seem like a decent poster but your avatar makes me a little sick in my mouth every time I see it. Actually is a Wolves fan too.
The aim of the profile picture definitely wasn't to cause controversy or AFC fans to cry :whistle::whistle:
In all seriousness I've spoken to him a fair few times, and while I can see why he could be dislikeable, he really does care about the club and the city, which is better than 90% of the chairmen out there

1. Wycombe is about 30 miles away and we always take 1,000+ there and they do likewise to our place so I think a few people care (I do not as they are too tinpot for us to concern ourselves with IMO).

2. Our record against Peterborough is actually not that bad. We have had 7 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses in 19 meetings. Okay, we have lost 4 out of the last 5 but we have had some good games against them in our short history - the two 0-3 wins (cup and league) at London Road in our first season, the 1-2 win at London Road in our League Two title winning season, the 1-0 win we had at Stadium:MK a couple of months before the play-offs. that 3-2 win in the play-off first leg and the 3-0 win this season as you have mentioned.

As for answering the thread, DippyDon has done it well for our side with my invaluable help (you could probably add in Luton Town but we have only played them twice and that was 10 years ago so that has not developed) but I am going to be a rebel and say that the 'Dons Derby' (or rivalry) will always be our biggest as that is the only one that really stirs emotion from everybody on both sides. We have only played them three times (all at home) but clearly the best was the 2-1 win in the FA Cup in our first meeting when Jon Otsemobor did this in injury time to win the game...

tumblr_mehjtsS0iE1r1fq7do2_500.gif

The other two were a bit more 'meh' with lower attendances but still very tense for those there nevertheless. A 3-1 win in the League Cup this season which set up a meeting with Manchester United in the next round and a 2-3 defeat in the JPT. It will all get a bit more interesting if we ever play them at their place and/or in the league but until then, we will have to make do with trying to make some more rivals in this league...

To be fair, I've only been able to be a regular the last 3 years due to personal reasons, and I've never seen us play regularly at Wycombe or be good at Posh, so that factored into my thinking

I've never been to the City Ground  so will only be including home games.

Best: Derby 5-0 Forest - AMAZING. I'm still convinced Billy Davies did that on purpose though, but who cares...

Worst: Derby 1-2 Forest - Probably this seasons defeat, rather than the first time they won at Pride Park. It was a game we really should never have thrown away, but we were absolutely dire in that second half and got everything we deserved for coming out thinking we'd already won.

Best - 3-2 at their place having been 2 down.
Worst (1) - Losing 5-2 at their place, thoroughly awful game.
Worst (2) - Losing 2-0 at home in 1990, got nicked after the game for a little set-to.

I thought their first win at PP was easily the worst in recent years for sure, that Earnshaw flip right in front of us. Worst result of the season.
This years was horrible because it was smash and grab but it didn't have a lot riding on it at the time I felt, they were shit and that was just a blip in between some very good form for us. All that Psycho is back shite that got spouted was short lived as expected. Normality resumed the week after. The fact it wasn't our worst game of the season speaks volumes really for the end of season we had. Quite forgettable thanks to our royal fuck up.

There have been some really good fixtures in recent years, with a fair few flashpoints. Long may it continue. (Just maybe not the punching of players).

The best ones I can remember are probably the 2-1 win at the Lane with the Tudgay screamer to complete the double, then the 2 in the Promotion season were very memorable for different reasons. Would give anything to go the Wembley semi final in 93, watching the highlights of the game it should have been about 5-1.

The worst ones, any defeat to them is pretty bad but being 3-0 down at half time was a bad feeling.

Best: Either this season's Swindon match or last season's Rovers match.
Worst: Bristol City 0-6 Cardiff City.

But tbh this a few weeks back was hilarious.

The worst for me had to be Trumpton in 1990 when we got a proper hiding on the pitch as the gas bastards beat us to the Div 3 (as it was then) title. That bloody hurt!
The best would be either beating the gas at Eastville in the cup in 1982/3 when we hardly had enough players for a team or Scotty Murrays' heyday at Ninian park when we battered the sheep worriers and Scotty took the piss out of the Bob bank. That was a bit 'hairy' getting out of there, I can tell you. The natives were NOT happy!

Best was the 2-1 win at hillsborough in our promotion season to the prem 2 absolute screamers from akinbyi and tonge. Weve not won there since but a 1-1 draw there was pretty good with about 3 games to go to keep them in the relegation battle of which they eventually went down.

Worst was throwing the 2 goal lead away in league one with 8 mins to go terrible day. Followed by there only win at bramall lane in about 50 years which was also there 1st double in anyones lifetime.

Best - 3-1 home win against the Albion the season we stayed up on the last day is the only win I've seen against the Albion. 3-2 away to Blues and 1-0 at Villa stick out from our other midland derbies.

Worst: Play off defeat to Albion without a doubt closely followed by the 5-1 home defeat.

So many great memories of beating Rovers its hard to chose the best one. Maybe 1-0 in the early 90s, the goal coming in the 89th minute. It was my first ever Bristol derby and we hadnt beaten them in about 10 metings so you can imagine the noise when that goal went in. Sheer class.

Worst has to be getting dicked 4-0 at Trumpton a couple of years after that. It was live on TV and I balled my eyes out knowing that school the next day would be hell (I lived in a Rovers area)

Never really understood inter city rivalries. Don't get 'em. Think the fans just get worked up because they need a derby.

Saying that, people probably wouldn't understand our weird incestuous relationship with the Sheep. I don't really get it either.

Don't think i've seen Reading play in a derby game yet. Last one was 2004 and a few years before that for the last league derby.

Best: 1-3 win at Bloomfield Road.

Worst: 0-1 at Deepdale when that c*** Hoolahan chipped it. The fucking criminal twat.
