Never seen the need for it, and when England C was playing during mid week, no Conference clubs could play, which was always so annoying.

If it was a proper open age representative team, which played against representative teams from a similar level from other countries it might be a bit more interesting. The players involved all seem to have enjoyed and benefitted from the experience though, so in a way it'll be a shame to see it go. We've had a lot of players involved in it down the years as well, which has been a source of pride in many respects.

While agree it's a bit of a waste of time... cutting it will help nothing.

He's looking for 30 million quid and cutting England C is properly pissing in the wind to find that kind of money.

...that said, a number of these trips were glorified jollies for the FA. Flying over to Bermuda, a tax haven; an extremely expensive country to go to on holiday (£200pn+ typically for a hotel room) for a friendly against a team outside the top 100 in the world. Flying over to Jordan, staying again in a very expensive 5* hotel - I should know, I stayed in the same resort!

That said, the game in Albania where the whole stadium was flooded, certainly wasn't a jolly.

I went to a game in c2010 that was held at Kenilworth Road. Barely 1,500 people showed up. No one, apart from the players themselves cared about it.
