Made hard work of that, look very short of fitness which is a worry. Got the job done though, which plenty of other big sides like Galatasaray, Bordeaux, PSV etc didn't manage and it's all that matters at this stage. Improvement needed next round though.

PSV lost - surprise there.

Absolute shocker really. Although Osijek has a new owner from last year. Some Hungarian construction magnate, something like that. Poured in some cash to have a potent team for domestic league and maybe few rounds of europe. Have gathered quite an interesting bunch of players.

Also dutch clubs are kinda crappy last few seasons.

Aberdeen out at this stage AGAIN. Fourth or fifth year in a row I think.

but not as bad as RB Salzburg from Austria in the CL. They didn't make it to the CL for the 10th time in a row. Every year since Red Bull "took over" in Salzburg in 2005 they try to survive the CL Qualifiers.

In the social media they are already mocking about it "La Decima" a sort of "Anti Real Madrid"

Decent draw for Everton as expected at this stage, should get through that but they'll need to pick up the tempo from the previous round which felt very much like a pre-season friendly.

Everton 1-0 up thanks to a Michael Keane header.

Unfortunately game halted on 33 minutes due to crowd trouble.

Heard about that..

Away fans tying to get into the pitch and at the Everton fans.

Everton will be the ones who get into trouble though knowing how UEFA deal with these situations!

Pretty good stuff from Everton so far although Split aren't up to much.

I have to say though from the little I've seen of Klaasen in an Everton shirt he looks like the Dutch version of Steven Naismith.

FT 2-0.

Decent performance from Everton. Think they will comfortably have enough to get through.

Yep can't see Split having enough about them to worry Everton in the away leg, all they need is an away goal to completely kill the tie. Michael Keane and Gueye very impressive tonight.

AC Milan is playing in a european competition after 3 years absence. They won the 1st leg 6-0 against a Macedonian club (Testicle or so)

Last years finalist, Ajax, on the other hand lost 0-1 at home against Norwegian side Trondheim. After failing the Champions League Qualifiers they could even miss the Europa League

This is why Koeman wanted a bigger lead - very hostile and the hosts have nothing to lose.

Unbelievable goal from Sigurdsson, totally killed the tie in the end, will be a good experience for Everton's younger players to get some game time in this for their development and I can see them definitely competing. Was I right in hearing the lad who missed the penalty for Split scored a hat trick last week, and was getting booed by his own supporters for missing a penalty? These European fans are mental.

Eveton given a tough group with Lyon and Atalanta.

Arsenal's progress probably simply depends on what team they field but a couple of long trips and Koln are no mugs.
