At least I predicted an honest result and not 8 - 1 as you did in the other thread ;)
i actually think it will be 8 - 1 , i predicted 5 - 1 last season and wasn't far off

Never got a point at Everton - even in the 80s when we were half decent by our standards.

Be nice for that to change but as I say expect a plucky 1 goal defeat.

Everton have done some good business over the summer, and if they can keep hold of Stones then I can see them challenging for Europe this season.

Everton 2-0 Watford

Lukaku has a fitness test. Would have thought Kone will start up front if he doesnt make it. Though personally think putting Joel Robles or even a traffic cone (or traffic Kone? Wahey...) would be more mobile and ruthless in front of goal...

Besic, Pienaar, McGeady, Gibson all definitely out. Deulofeu doutbful, wouldnt expect him to start even if he is fit, more likely on the bench. Assuing he is out, think we might start like...

Howard
Coleman-Stones-Jagielka- Baines
McCarthy-Barry
Mirallas-Barkley-Osman
Lukaku
Most likely any differences from that will see Naismith for Barkley or Cleverley for Barry.

Saw that last night...hope not. Dont even know if Oviedo is fit enough to play full games yet. If not, Galloway is all we've got.

You know it'll be true. The bad rumours always are with us!

Indeed it was - and from Ighalo.

Stunned Layun scored and actually managed to hold on at the end.

Very promising start..

Wow...I know Ive said Im a bit worried about us but...wow. That first half was as bad a 45 minutes as I think Ive ever seen us put in. No shape whatsoever in midfield, the whole team were playing like they didnt have a clue what they were supposed to be doing, or what anyone else was doing, Lukaku took an hour to receive a ball anywhere but 40 yards out with his back to goal, and on the few occasions Watford attacked, we looked terrified. Second half was much better (well it couldnt have been any worse) and it was just looking like when we were going to equalise. Finally did when Kone laid off for Barkley to rocket one in (dont be fooled by the goal, he was awful yet again) and from that point, no home side should be going behind again from that point, as all the momentum was now with us, Watford hadnt had an attack second half. But once we equalised, we held off, started playing **** again and messing around, and Watford broke away and went ahead again. Thankfully, we equalised almost straight away, Lukaku holding off a defender and playing in Kone who pretty uncharacteristically, put in a lovely cool finish.

Awful start. Given the next 9 games we've got are horrible, I think getting a win today was important. As its not a run of games you want to be going into on the back of an irritating draw at home to a newly promoted side.Positives...not many. Howard looked a lot more assured than he did at any point last season. Kone shocked me and did enough to me to earn a start alongside Lukaku next game, as he changed the game when he came on. Stones looked like the speculation around Chelsea hasnt affected him, and Cleverley looked promising enough on his debut...at least when he wasnt on the wing!

Good to hear - mind you the away support is usually decent and we had something to shout about..

For all the talk of having so many new players the whole bench and 4 of the starting line up were here last season.

Clearly those who did come in settled well.

West Brom will be a different test - we might expect to be on the front foot from the off.

Lets be honest we were shite and dominated the match, i think you will struggle if you keep playing like that it was like playing West Brom ffs

Does look like Deeney was lucky but maybe we were due some after our last visit?!

Berahmi will be booked most games.

Watford played well when the scores were even. Nyom and Jurado impressed me. If they didn't sit back as much as when they were ahead they may have gone on to win
