Would have been away to Daggers or Morecambe then.

Somewhat softens the blow.

Oxford would be good, quite local game and we'll take a few.

Salford v Hartlepool the only one that looks nailed on to get on the box a lot of meh games apart from that.

Welling v Carlisle and maybe Colchester v Alty have a chance of being picked.

Assuming it's 3 on TV again?

Yeah Salford nailed on to get it again unfortunately. Welling vs Carlisle should go up I guess (which would be the tie we would have had if we had won 2 more games!). Grimsby vs Shrewsbury sounds like it should be up for non-league vs league, but in my head it still sounds like a crappy mid-table L2 game. Wonder if the Northampton match is more likely to get on due to their current problems and the fact they are guaranteed to be playing a non-leauge side. I'd pick Colchester vs Alty though, as Alty have already provided a shock, should have been on TV, were denied extra money to move the game to Sunday and Colchester were in trouble against a side even lower down for periods. It's the tie most likely to provide a shock.

My guesses for the TV picks are then: Salford vs Hartlepool, Welling vs Carlisle, and Colchester vs Alty.

If Northwich win their replay expect their tie at Northampton to go on above the Colchester vs Alty, but I hope not as they should have been kicked out this season and have earned a lot of money from the mistake already.

Can see Rochdale vs Bury being one.

Colchester v Alty might be one of the highlights, they usually pick the lowest ranked clubs at home first and there's at least 3 of them, Salford a certainty, Stourbridge and probably Welling.

We have a chance there, decent record against Colchester as well.

I would expect our game to be one of the 2pm Sunday ones, can't say there's an awful lot of inspiring ties in the draw.

Agree it's a poor draw with most of the giant-killers getting scant reward. Another televised Salford match seems inevitable, think Grimsby v Shrewsbury and Welling v Carlisle most likely. Wouldn't expect an all non-League clash at Stourbridge would attract the cameras.

Wasn't too bothered about losing to Hartlepool but Salford away would have been a certain tv game and a nice boost to our finances. And annoyingly we really should've beaten Hartlepool on the day.

I'm not too sure about Salford being one of the live games, unless BT decide to show it, as they were the Friday night game for the Beeb in Round One. It probably depends on who wins their replays but my money would be on Stourbridge, Grimsby and either Aldershot/Bradford or Rochdale.

Makes our Bradford game so much more important next week.
A big incentive that if, and its a very big if, we can get through then we've got a great chance (with all respect to Chesham) of getting through to the third round.
Agree about it being a poor draw though - no stand out ties really and a lot of the non-league teams will probably go out as well.

Do they announce TV games before the replays? If not and Bradford win their tie then I'd go for Bradford-Chesham being the friday night TV game. They'll roll out Bradford's giant killing acts of Chelsea and run to the league cup final and have a whole 'can Chesham giant kill the giant killers'

Should the early rounds of the FA cup be regionalised? Feel sorry for the likes of Carlisle who win at Plymouth to be rewarded with a trip to Welling, which may end up being televised at daft o clock on a Sunday.

I's love to see Salford v Hartlepool on the BBC. However, if not Welling v Carlisle. Last resort, Grimsby v Sh***sbury.

Really poor draw overall. Gutted for Stourbridge, who win five FA Cup fixtures and still wind up with The Vision™.

The early rounds are regionalised... But no. The first round proper shouldn't be.

I agree with Jemfy on the regionalisation, whilst tough on the likes of Carlisle, it is still the luck of the draw. We went to Margate in the first round, which was about as far as we possibly could have gone and certainly a lot further than many clubs in the northern half of the draw. We halved the trip with Wimbledon but face the possibility of another longish trip if Braintree win their replay...fingers crossed for Oxford.

You'll love this!
Stourbridge are only allocating us 300 tickets (15% of their 2000 capacity).
Our forum is going nuts as we have been taking 300-400 to games recently, so a lot of fans are going to miss out.
The Vision can oversell their allocation, how many of you can claim that....
The 1,000 Season Ticket holders that we have get first dibs, so not even all of those are going to get a ticket (of course not all of them go to away games anyway).
We are now a massive club. :bdick:

Yes, they gave us the same and according to Google Maps, we are 8 miles ground to ground. I don't see why you would expect more than what we got. They did give us an additional 100 after their sale ended, but I reckon they'll sell theirs out for a second round proper game.

I never said we deserved more than 300. But the fact we could have sold 500+ does make you sit up and take notice.
The Vision are expanding faster than Eammon Holmes's waistline.

Dull looking line up tbh.

Should have waited till the replays, plus Colchester v Altrincham would have been more interesting then Grimsby v Shrewsbury imo, which sounds like a league game. It will be funny if they try the "plucky non-league Grimsby" line though.

Bury v Rochdale is actually a league game, so although it is a derby it hardly appeals to the neutrals.

The whole point of the early round coverage is meant to be about giantkillings. 2 of those 3 don't offer that, and the other one is a typical BBC ManUre love in

Will the Sunday games be decided after the replays?

My thoughts are pretty much summed up by Chris above.

Welling vs Carlisle should be a TV game, though it's a bit harsh on the away fans it actually has some FA Cup appeal. Two teams in the same division at this stage is a shit game for neutrals, even if it is a derby.

Grimsby vs Shrewsbury only ticks the boxes on technicalities. It sounds like a boring mid-season L2 fixture.

A shame so many of the non-league sides remaining went to replays as that pretty much rules you out of a TV game. Why are the replays the following week and not the immediate Tuesday/Wednesday (or even Thursday for the Monday night game I guess).
