Followong the rumble, ive found myself reminiscing about previous times. Theres a lot of moments in wrestling where it just clicks, and what's great is there's such a diverse range of tastes and 'era' on this forum everyone, everyones will have different favourites. Whether it's hulk slamming the giant, through the Bryan winning the title.

There's a lot for me, and most will centre around Foley I imagine. As a starter, it always comes back to this one. A hell of a lot of credit goes to HHH too for his sell of the reveal.

Also, this is great:

You could probably list any time The Rock has ever sung live in this thread.

Big Boss Man interrupting The Big Show's Dad's funeral.
TLC 2 (or just Wrestlemania 2000 in general)
HHH v Vince McMahon No Holds Barred Match Armageddon 1999.
Stone Cold getting run over by Rikishi at Survivor Series and then the witch hunt that followed.

I'm sure more will come when I start getting through all the PPV's!

I shall find the video at home hopefully as I cannot at work, but the entire Jake the Snake/savage thing is my personal fave moment.

the whole piece of Jake getting a cobra to bite savage is superb, the fab shot of Jake sitting by the corner post with his cobra standing up in front as such defending him, then the children blubbing in the crowd so much so that Mcmahon breaks into laughter during commentary.

then the superb promo's at Tuesday in Texas before the match.............the match granted is a total waste which is a damn shame, but then Jake hitting numerous DDT's on Savage, and slapping Elizabeth in the face to utter hatred of the crowd (you didn't hit women in wrestling back then you know)

then jakes utterly awesome promo just after where he as such pretty much claimed punching Liz to be like watching porn........then into the royal rumble 92 where they scrapped and battled away.

It is just a shame when it came to the pay-off it was a rushed half-job as they at the time had quickly switched about lots of feuds for mania VIII and were ditching it to move both onto Flair and Taker........that feud deserved really a big 20-25 minute Mania finale.....it never got one.....well I think jake was also starting to break down at this point with issues which didn't help.

but away from the match, the moments and the promo's are excellent, you can feel the total and utter hatred for Jake at the time, something heels just cannot really get from crowds thesedays

its a shame that 1991 Heel Jake was never done 2 years previous because it was the best character, just it happened when he was edging into dark territory.

Yes Jake Roberts as a heel in 91 was absolute gold. Such a shame he was gone after mania 8 in April 92.

He also got robbed of what would have been a superb feud with Warrior in 91.

I always think mania 8 was meant to be Jake VS Savage, Undertaker Vs Sid and Hogan Vs flair but of course numerous events sidetracked it.

Hogan announcing retirement, Jake leaving and also in a bad way behind scenes, that RR finish when fans started to cheer Sid and boo Hogan etc, etc

but at least jake whacked in a good few great moments in his 8 odd months before leaving.

certainly worth a watch if on the network to them new lot.

i 100% back up this comment. that savage / roberts story will stand up against any as one of the greatest wrestling stories of all time. the only thing that probably stops it being THE greatest wrestling story of all time was the lack of a big pay off.

This along with matches with Jericho and Mick cement how good a heel HHH was. I actually hated him back in the day and his stronghold on the title made for many exciting moments like this. Case and point, the fucking pop at Backlash 2000 when Austin comes out and Rock finally beats HHH for the title. Unreal.

I dare you to find me a more explosive and prolonged pop than that.

Only Grado could get a bunch of wrestling fans singing Madonna, and that mash up with Goldberg is pretty cool.
