So this is silly now. Another two players injured this week and out of Saturday's match. the player we signed on non-contract terms last week has left after playing a total of 54 minutes to sign for Blackpool. Now today Sturrock says we've got a flu bug in the camp and two players missed training today because of it.

We already have 9 players out injured, if these two are out with flu then we'll have 12 fit players for Morecambe and we can't make any emergency loans.

Morecambe to win 2-1.

Who are the two out injured now? Any promising youngsters to come in? Feel quite a bit sorry for Sturrock, not a great way to start a new season.

Jakob Sokolik was due to play on Tuesday but pulled out, he's got a fractured wrist that's worse than first thought, it's needed a heavier cast put on it that would ban him from being able to play.
Josh Wakefield limped off with an ankle injury, touch and go whether he'll be fit for Saturday.

The latest is we may have 15 players available although most on the bench won't be 100%.

We've got no-one realistically to come in as cover as we only restarted our youth team a few weeks ago. Before that our first team squad was the sum total of all playing staff at the club.

Hm, not looking forward to this one, by the sounds of it Sturrock isn't keen to use anyone from the youth team which will leave our bench looking a bit bare. Not sure I'm keen on him using Sowumni up from either, even if he did compare him to Kenwyne Jones...

We were outclassed last week at Oxford, and i worry that if Wakefield isn't fit (leaving us with down to 1 centre mid) we could be overrun in midfield again today.

However, after fighting and scrapping for that result in midweek, I reckon we'll see the same again today for 1-1.

Ran out of steam in the 2nd half after being down to 10 men for over an hour.

Jeffers banned for 3 games, Compton came off with a calf strain. We only had 4 on the bench to start with and after using a sub for Compton we only had strikers left so couldn't shut out the game. Morecambe's subs made all the difference.
