Just seen the score, delighted with that and especially for Jack Marriott.

Whenever I've seen him he has impressed me, you can tell he has got something there, You always think "he can do something with this" when he gets the ball for want of a better expression. Having Said that, hope CMS isn't out for a long time. Good for Lee as well, liked him since has signed.

Important to maintain this now in the home game against York now

We absolutely gifted you 3 goals with comedy defending,4 th was a peach though.
We missed so many chances,Bingham the main culprit,it was laughable, another struggle beckons.

How does Jack Marriott do it? Both these players were in our starting line up early last season and managed a grand total of zero goals between them in that time.

Mark Tyler > Rakish Bingham.

Best keeper in the league, true that.

Those criticising Jonathan Smith in the last couple of weeks - now joint top scorer with 4 goals.

As one of the people who criticised him, I feel compelled to respond to this. It's great that he's added goals to his game, and I've always said I fucking love the guy for his passion... but he still has his fundamental weaknesses. Doing his best Frank Lampard impression will cover those for a while, but an inability to pass a football five yards to a teammate is not a great attribute for a centre mid.

That's very harsh. I think he's done OK. Nothing special. But certainly not something to be criticised.

Pretty much all of his goals this season have been because he's been in the right place at the right time. A good trait in a striker - a poacher. Many could argue CMS' overall contribution has vastly outweighed Marriott's but its the latter who doesn't only have 1 goal from open play.

He's got a few of the Andre Gray traits, although I still think Andre is a better player. I've got to applaud John Still here, because like the former, he wasn't thrust into the limelight straight away and still isn't. He's being managed. In our Conference winning season, Andre didn't score his first until the 8th game. Up until then he wasn't really in a look in for a start after a poor preseason. Went onto score 30 in the next 39ish.

Just watched the highlights and think the Hartlepool fans are being slightly harsh on the Bingham lad.

His finishes where no worse than Jack Marriotts but Marriotts got 2 goals and Binghams got none because Tyler has made some bloody good saves there, albeit ones he would expect to make because... Well he's Mark fucking Tyler.

Against many of the keepers in this league those finishes go in I think, and certainly if the keepers where reversed i.e you lot had Tyler and we Bartlett the scores from those highlights in any case, could conceivably have been reversed.

Off those highlights it didn't "look" a 4-1 game, bit concerning how you lot seemed to carve through us quite easily seemingly! Some pretty dodgy defendin in there and that back stick defending by Griff and Wilko still leaving a lot to be desired.

The stats were a bit surprising actually, Hartlepool shading possession and having by far the more shots. I know whenever you mention match-stats people are always quick to say they don't tell the whole story, but they must tell some of the story.

They tell the whole story. Luton had 4 shots and scored 4 goals. We had, I would guess at 20 shots, and scored 1.

Obviously being ahead as an away side you tend to drop back and let the other team come onto you, but the full game was camped in the Luton half. Our defenders (especially Harrison who is fast becoming the biggest liability in our team) were shown up for pace with ease.

Having Magnay, Woods and Bingham back in the team highlighted were all of our creativity and chances are created. Having any of these out of the team and I fear we have 0 chance of winning games. If Bingham could finish, he would be playing in a much higher league. Alas, he can't, and finds himself at Pools. He could've won the game on his own, even with conceding 4 goals, he created that many chances.

McNulty, although can read the game very well, was dragged out of position easily by both Paynter and Bingham, and we carved endless chances. Tyler made some very good saves, but they were all straight at him. Either side of him and Bingham gets an easy hat trick.

Onto the next game.. hopefully Moore brings in replacements for Harrison and Magnay, or we are screwed.

I would hazard a guess that we would be at the opposite end of the table. Our conversion rate must be so low, considering the number of good chances we create.
