To an extent I kind of agree. I mean there are definitely more than those 4 (certainly players like Stam, RIo, Schmeichel and van Nistelrooy deserve a nod), but a lot of the players Fergie had weren't world class, first team player in any team, genuine world beaters. English clubs were hampered by the 3 foreign player rule that included Wales and Scotland, United were crap as a whole in Europe until that changed. When it did we did well with Cantons, unfortunately it came too late as that was towards the end of his career.

Also telling that he retired very early to go muck about on beaches playing football against a bunch of milkmen. Bloke is more myth than legend imvho.
