Lowering prices to £6 adults £4 concessions, £120 adult ST, £180 two-year ST.

Considering the average price at their level is £9, what do we think of this? Roughly equivalent to attempting £10 admission at Conference level I'd suspect. Would be very interesting to see how it plays out.

Terrible news for us. Ilkeston are around 10 miles away from us and take all the floating support in recent years and with us dropping to just one level above I expect it to get worse.

Fantastic prices though. Cant blame people. Instead of paying £14 for Conference North

Are many fans that likely to hop from a small town non-league team to another close by?

You're certainly still paying a fuckton at the Impact though in value terms. I can see that you'd still feel very much upstaged. Ilkeston seem to have good PR at the moment too as well as a very talented, extraordinarily young side. And are they really bleeding full-time?

We worked on a new Nursing home that overlooks Ilkeston's ground last year, Was alright working nights when they had a game because you could watch for free. Have they still got Gary Rickets? Scumbag he is.

Ricketts was a nice bloke, used to coach a girls' side too in his spare time. I think that Thompson incident was an unfortunate one.

I watch Ilkeston a bit as I had 2/3 mates play for them over the past few years but they've all left now. I still might go down though on the odd occasion at those prices. I definitely think it'll lead to a cheap playing staff however, Wilson and Chettle both were on decent money for EvoStik management and they've lost a few established players like Reid and Maguire to Nuneaton.

They can probably afford to do it as well considering in the last 12 months they've sold Richards, Adams, Hunter and Wright for fees and could be selling Chettle for a fee soon as well (not sure if they got compensation for Simons). So i assume their transfer revenue has been fairly extraordinary for a club that size.

I believe so when your looking at such a big difference. I firmly believe its one of the biggest reasons behind our poor crowds

Not heard they are to go full time. They had to let their previous manager go because they "couldnt afford to continue to employ him" so Id say not?

"We had hoped to charge just £5, but at the Northern Premier League’s AGM last weekend, the committee decided to increase the minimum entry price from £5 to £6, but we still believe this offers great value for money.”

Wow,

Had a bit of a soft spot for Ilsun since they prevented Gloucester City winning the Southern League Western Division in 2004 (just before the re-organisation of the pyramid) which prevented City going into the Conference regional leagues. Their fans were top notch as well. Probably my best trip to Meadow Park that day.

Fair play to them for trying to get people in, hope it works for them.
