It's back for it's 10th season, episode 2 "The Gang Group Dates" airs tonight in the US. Episode 1 was a very strong start to the new season I thought. Anyone else watching along?

I know there were a few TFFers who're fans of the show, I got hooked far later than you guys and it was well, well worth it. It's never found a home in the UK apart from on Netflix, however it deserves much more attention than it gets. This is the show the makes me laugh more than any other, and has been consistently very good for it's whole run (although it stepped up with the introduction of De Vito in S2 onwards). If you haven't, watch it!

It's lost its way over the past couple of seasons. I respect that McElhenny doesn't stick rigidly to a set amount of episodes, accounting for the amount of material they have to work with year-to-year, but the premise is getting stale and I don't think they really have anywhere new to go with these characters. In its current state, it's comparable to where South Park was between 2000-2003, before they found the hyper-contemporaneity angle.

The first couple of episodes this season have been great. Back to their best.

what are people's fave episodes outta interest

Few of my favourites... Mac and Charlie Die, Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare, The Gang Solves the Gas Crisis and, of course, The Nightman Cometh. Also, the episode where Dee and Charlie start using steroids... don't remember the name.

"Then, he was going to, quote, eat your butt and your son's butt in the stink, until his stomach was full of your... butts. Is this correct?"

That was seriously good. I thought it was an homage to Birdman, but apparently it was filmed before it was released. That makes the jazz drum soundtrack very coincidental though.

After every episode this season I seem to be thinking that it was the best episode of the series and this week has been no exception. Frank as a man cheetah was fantastic.

It's really is so, so good. Loved Dennis raging at potential buyers of his car.

Q: Dee... hot or not?

In real life maybe, as Dee, no.

How does it change through the series if at all? Seen the first handful of episodes and it was accessible and fair good but a lot of the humour's very teenaged.

I think it takes them 3 or 4 seasons to get into their stride. The addition of Danny DeVito to the cast is a real godsend and transforms the show once they establish his place properly. The characters also begin to feel fully developed which they don't necessarily in the first couple of seasons.

I think you could get away with skipping the first season. The second season isn't the strongest but there is some good episodes and a lot of ground work is laid for the latter series. What I think they are really good at is running jokes, which certainly rewards those who watch the episodes more than once, and I think you'd miss some of that when you're missing the first stages of Frank joining the gang.

Bringing this back because even though a couple of episodes so far have been a bit dodgy, the Trial of the Century was amazing.

I think this season has been very strong so far. The first couple of episodes had me a bit worried but there has been some crackers. Mac and Dennis Move to the Suburbs and the Trial of the Century are both classic Sunny. I also loved Being Frank and think it is one of the best they've ever done but it does seem to be an episode that has divided opinion.

I still think that the next series will be the last. Seemed strange that they extended it by multiple seasons when there was already talk of them ending it.
