Realistically, there could be 20 (21 if you count Peterborough as Midlands) Northern and Midland teams in this league next season...

No disrespect to a lot of the clubs but it looks a very very weak division at the moment. On the flipside it gives smaller clubs more of a chance of promotion to the Championship.

Southend or Plymouth to come up through the playoffs hopefully, not the other 2 tinpot fuckers.

Won't be another league 1 like this for a long long time, local games and full of teams who wouldn't look out of place in the bottom half.

Have to feel sorry for the southern clubs next season, the travelling the fans will have to do and I guess the £££ the clubs will lose. Gillingham for example all bar 2 games most teams will bring less than 300 to them, and then the travelling costs for the club, nearly every away game will be an overnight jobby so hotel/travel costs for the whole team. Millwall might be ok in the sense of away fans, few teams will take a good following to them as theyve not been this low down for awhile.

No excuses for all those northern teams not to be averaging nigh-on 1,000+ to most away games next season then when they're all around the corner.

I like Chesterfield so I welcome them. Would like Swindon to go up mainly cause they'll beat us next season and I have money on them.

Teams like Crewe, Bury, Oldham, Walsall etc averaging around 1000? What planet are you on?

However disappointing today is, months ago I dreamed of staying in this division, so as long as sheff United stay down for a bit of a humdinger - I'm sure we can have just as much fun.

The league was quite northern this year and we only got about five 1000-plus followings, can't really see that number drastically increasing next season especially if Sheff Utd or Preston go up. Not really like northern clubs are riding their away fan cash cows to the bank.
