Then it's probably a non-starter - I reckon he's too similar to Quigley and not the sort of character we need, but there has definitely been some interest at some stage. Hopefully it's just his agent or Mansfield trying to drum up some interest in him.

Played a midfield 3 a fair amount of times last season so can get away with one of those not moving up and down the pitch constantly. Did well at Blackpool last season. A leader who knows the club and the area well. For us, a very good signing.

I have watched spearing live maybe 50 times...a good talker leader his lack of pace stopped him from playing at a higher level.

Cannot knock him,but our midfield is all about being confident fast in possesion....and hunting the opposition down without the ball...spearing is simply not that player.....horses for courses

Yeah he’s a goalkeeper. The other players that were signing are Jack Armer and Daniel Devine, just in case you can find any links between them and the clue.

Spearing was not exactly known for his mobility when he was playing in cup finals for Liverpool. It is not what his game is about.

Evatt gives each individual player a target of how many km they should be running in a match and knows that if the individual players and team as a whole hit their targets the stats show they have a very high percentage of winning games. If you have a utility player who plays in various positions he will also have different targets for which position he plays in a certain match.

What Evatt plays is not unique...Its the way Guardiola sets his teams up..Evatt is no football pioneer he has worked out a way of playing , copied it .And will make a good career managing that way. We now have a squad of just over 20 players.....one Doyle is over 30.
A ball playing goalkeeper is a must....Giant centre halves two rapid wingbacks.....three small midfielders who run and harass for the ball when out of possesion and are comfortable with the ball at there feet.
