We have signed Frank Vincent on loan. He played for Torquay on loan the last two years, no clue if he's any good.
Vincent was very good for us last season and improved a lot over the first season he was with us as well in the NLS. He got injured before Christmas last season and was a massive miss as didn't return until just as the league was suspended. Was hoping he'd get a chance in L2 this season if he didn't come back to Torquay.

Good all-rounder, can play pretty much anywhere in midfield (and was ok as an emergency left back in a few games a well) and plenty of potential. Just needs to work a bit on the physical side of things.

Scunny and Bradford fans...we’ve just signed Rory McArdle. Please tell me he’s good?!?
He's a weird one. He looked very dodgy in L1 and all of our fans seemed to blame his poor CB partners (Charlie Goode and Cameron Burgess). Charlie Goode is now going to the Championship and Cameron Burgess is back in L1. We carried on shipping goals even with those two gone so I think people started to realise he might have been the problem. He's very old and slow but is not terrible, I am glad we let him go though.

Still can’t quite believe you offered him a three-year deal on the wages he wanted.

Very good servant of Bradford City A.F.C.

That @EFLTRANSFERTALK account seems to get a lot right.

On James Vaughan, it was a bit of a puzzle why Bradford loaned him out to us last season and after a slow start, he did well at Rovers. Had the season run it’s course and he kept us up, there was talk of a further payment to Bradford and the option to buy him outright.

Despite the noises, it seems hard to imagine that we’re in a position to pay the kind of money that Bradford and James Vaughan want for a deal to go through

Vaughan had a bust up with our then manager Gary Bowyer. Bowyer was ultra negative and Vaughan cut a forlorn figure up front with little support and service. That was the reason he was allowed out on loan

Daniel Devine becomes our 7th summer signing on a 2 year deal.

The kindest thing I could say Is that Devine was totally anonymous in most of his appearances with the club. Good luck to the lad though, maybe a move away from his hometown club will do him good and he can revive his career

Bradford fans. We’ve signed Jack Payne, how was he for you? Looks like a goalscoring attacking midfielder?

Looks like we’re trying to move on both Pierce Sweeney and Nicky Ajose. Both were training with kids today and have had their squad numbers given to other players.

Sweeney is an average L2 defender and would be ok for most at this level. He needs a move as he’s not been at his best for a while.

Ajose has a reputation for being a flop and he’s struggled with form and fitness since signing. That said, he’s scored a few when he’s played so he obviously can be a real threat. Apparently he’s on a 3 year deal here and presumably is one of our bigger earners so I’m not sure he will be that easy to move on.

Anybody else find Bolton’s transfers a bit underwhelming? Started off well with Sarcevic and Doyle but since then they’ve all been a bit meh.

Very good, technical player - sulks a bit.

He was a godsend the first half of the season. We extended his loan deal from Huddersfield in January to the tune of £10,000 per week - Huddersfield contributed the remaining £3k per week. Back then, he was on a Premier League contract. He then turned to shit in 2019.

Boltons current squad has some good players here and there from what I can see, but not alot of experience in their squad depth:

Salford, Port Vale, Cheltenham and Exeter are as it stands better equipped to be pushing for the top three.

All settled clubs, with settled squads with a few additions here and there as you do and settled coaching setups who would've already worked on how they play and what they expect from their players.

They will all be keen to push on from last season.

A current backline of:

Gethin Jones - Ricardo Santos - George Taft - Liam Gordon

Will need to adapt quickly to the pressure that will be expected of them. I don't see the squad depth yet to convince me they can bounce back straight away, time will tell.

He had an excellent half a season on loan in 2018. We then paid an absolute fortune in wages to keep him for the second half of the 18/19 season, and he was strangely dire after that. However, in his defence, we were absolutely woeful all over the park that second half of the season and relegated by Easter.

He is a very technically gifted player, small in stature, and I think he should do well for you under a decent manager

That back 4 is bang average.

Not arsed about Sarcevic, decent player but easily replaceable.

I expected you to build a very strong squad that’s all. Most of your signings are a bit unconvincing. But at least they are tall eh.

How good a squad looks on paper means nothing really.

I thought our squad was pretty good at the start of last season and we had a good manager yet we were awful and lost to teams where our squad looked much better than there's. Losing is a very hard habit to break, Bolton may not find bouncing back as easy as they think.

A fair post if you just look at the squad from, the outside especially if you have no idea about the likes of Crawford,Politic,Darcy etc....Each of the 12 signings we have done, have turned contracts offers from other teams to come here
Crawford,Doyle.Sarcevic and Delfouneso have either dropped down or had offers to play in lge 1 this season
Darcy,Politic and Brockbank have been linked with premier teams

Exactly. Can’t help but feel they are underestimating the quality in L2. Teams like Cheltenham and Port Vale are well equipped to push on next season. Exeter are always around the top 7. Salford are building a strong squad. I personally also fancy Mansfield. Bradford will fancy themselves. Tranmere started their recruitment well with Jay Spearing.

Certainly won’t be easy for Bolton.

What are your thoughts on Gethin Jones?

Anyone in this division yet to sign someone from Bradford this summer. Seems everyone's at it, which can only mean Bradford will surely piss this tinpot league
