You say the list goes on, but it really doesn’t. Very few clubs make redundancies then go on a spending spree. Only those that are run by massive bellends. Your club is one of them. Seemingly Plymouth and Arsenal are as well.

To be fair, you were right to raise Plymouth. I forgot about my dislike for their owner, who Plymouth fans bizarrely see as this benevolent god like figure. Much as you guys like to fervently masturbate on mass over Mark Palios.

Also, to defend the decision of sacking human beings who probably have families to feed by shrugging it off and saying ‘but the playing budget’ is another sad indictment of your fanbase. The use of redundancies should be to save an ailing business that is on the blink. They shouldn’t be used to sign James Vaughan.
Yes, I forgot the purpose of football clubs was to employ half of the local community and have no players on the pitch.

The reality is we were quite heavily staffed on and off the pitch before Covid and had to make reductions.

For what it is worth, we do tons of work in the community and the club has effectively been used as a community hub during Covid, distributing food parcels and such like.

Kieran Agard the latest message board rumour.
He's most likely available as he went from our top scorer to 4th choice in a matter of months, but I heard the other day he'd turned you down. Whether that's down to location or wages I'm not sure, but apparently he's just had another kid so I'm not sure if he's willing to see out the last year of his likely high wage contract with us or if he's happy to move.

Wonder if he is the proven experienced scorer we are after...

McCall has already mentioned that his targets are in L1/Champ, but getting them to come down and play L2 football is the sticking point - not finances.

We've signed Brennan Dickenson on a 2 year deal.

Exeter and Colchester fans... any thoughts?
A great signing. I think we had to let him go due to COVID, we had him on a short term contract which expired and was therefore one of the players who went. He is decent. I reckon he will do really well for you. We probably would have tried harder to keep him if we didn't have Sparkes, who is young and a bit special for this level and might make us a few bob.

I’ve not seen anything linking us to Agard. When was this?
Chances are it was a crap twitter rumour, but it was on there a few days or so ago.

It could well be finances now because of the salary cap. I’d wager it’s more wage/location related because everybody else can see he’s not quite up to league 1 standards now.

McCall states we’re nowhere near the salary cap at present, so that leads me to believe that there’s plenty of iron left in our fire.

Nicky Maynard, Jordi Hiwula, David Ball and Agard all being mentioned.

Kelvin Mellor signs, ex-Blackpool/Plymouth and Bradford. Wasn't expecting that, we need another midfielder/attacker really. We can't rely on Leitch-Smith and Stockton for goals all season, is McAlinden better up top or out wide? Dunno.

Unlucky Morecambe, he's dreadful. Never seen a player pass it out of play under no pressure as much as he does. Pops up with the odd goal but everything else about his game is woeful. Will he be a starter? Because if half your back four is Mellor and NKP, you'll concede a shit tonne.

Tranmere splashing the cash again. This time with the re-signing of youngster Danny Walker Rice.

McAlinden needs to be played through the middle in my opinion. When he was with us he played as a central striker and if you get him firing he could do very well.

Good size but uses none of it, gets outmuscled/beaten so easily, does have an alright knack for scoring the odd goal.

Another young signing for Mansfield, Corey O’Keeffe - RWB for Macclesfield last season, probably made this signing due to Joe Riley pretty much being out for the entire season.

Apparently he’s a cracking player, although I’ll like to hear from our resident Macclesfield fans to confirm that.

Got to admit, I’m really happy with this more younger and cheaper approach this summer.

James Perch to Mansfield, I hear.

Sounds fishy to me.

You have absolutely no idea how brilliant Bishop was in the first season, unreal.
I forgot we were in L1 when we let him go, he couldn't handle L1 anymore. Perch can't handle L2 so this might be different.
