Hey.

So today the latest drama is Cellino failing with his appeal. No surprise there. Now wondering if he'll appeal the failed appeal (yeah, seriously).

So as things stand he's got to step down from an involved position in the club until mid-April when his conviction is spent. Problem here is that there are still outstanding charges in Italy he's not been tried for yet. It seems highly possible that in time he'll be convicted for similar offences and thus be disqualified again.

Is this the start of the end of a relatively short, and mad regime? Difficult to say, and not sure what the future holds - good or bad. At the least, Cellino provided a little financial security. However, I'm more than happy to see him depart if there's a solid plan B there to fall back on.

But yeah, right now, we're owned 75% by a disqualified man and 25% by an utter embarrassment who should be disqualified.

Man, could you not have let Leeds United threads die with TFF?

This is an absolute mess and I can't help but feel we've been hard done by, judging by some of the other owners in football past and present. Personally for all his faults I am behind Cellino for what he's done for the club and I think he's too committed to walk away, so I think he'll be back. Just a shame that it's yet more instability for us.

On a similar note, where is the "Blackpool FC is dying" thread?

As classic as that thread was, it had just turned into the single most tedious Preston-Blackpool slagging match you could ever imagine

Cellino, as expected, is defiant and has pretty much confirmed that he'll be returning and that the club will remain stable while he's away. Good news. However it was suggested in the local press that three players are/were ready to leave because of the decision, which won't help them.

Yeah he says business as usual. All well and good so long as he doesn't get fucked in the Italian courts again. Would be untenable if he's found guilty on other charges.

In other news, he cooked the players pre-match meals tonight. No shit

Of course. It's been a circus for years but we're just used to it now. Nothing surprises me these days.

Good luck Leeds fans. I love the banter between fans, but hate the absolute shambles of club ownership that affects so may teams these days.

Of one thing you can be absolutely 100% fucking sure: when a club fails and plummets into the abyss, you can blame the owner, the club management, the coach or the players. But you can never, ever blame the fans. Those who cause the descent into darkness are the ones who always walk away; those who can't, remain standing together in the rain, the wind, and the freezing cold November Tuesday nights.

I think this might be a bridge too far - £10m is a lot to riase between the fans.

Some tweet knocking about yesterday saying that Bates predicted that some mystery investor would come in Jan and put £8m quid into the club. All isn't as it seems there, it always worries me when that old dinosaur seems to know what's going off at the club.

Just to avoid confusing, we're still dying. Just some prick changed the title because he's utterly hilarious. The masked comedian.

I can't see it myself but he's transformed the South Sydney Rabbitoh's from flops to flyers. I'm sure our combination of overheads, debts and wage bills are higher than theirs but it'd raise the profile of the club I suppose.

Ownership by an actor is nothing to crow about, tbh. Especially if he is barred from ownership later on. For the moment, I think the authorities will need proof of where this money comes from and that could take a good year to sort out. Once you buy a club, there's no way back. Not like there's some kind of rough magic or virtuosity that can get a club like Leeds back into the Premiership. More likely to see the club breaking up after the Cellini fiasco. Crowe's no Robin Hood. Anyway, where's the evidence he wants in: could be a body of lies or it might even just be a winter's tale by the media.
Even if Redfern has a beautiful mind, he may not stay on if the Kiwi takes over. Anyway he should stay focused on the state of play. I guess the next three days will tell whether the nice guys will win or whether we see some kind of American gangster scenario where Leeds stay with a man of steel or they get a master and commander from the far side of the world.

I'm just waiting for SERNWA to come and post something about "train spotters or virgins". Ah how I miss him.

If, off the field chaos and confusion reigns as strong as ever, on the pitch a glimmer of hope has started to flicker.

Neil Redfearn abandoned the diamond formation in January and since then we have played 12 won 7 drawn 2 and lost 3. If that had been our points per game haul from the start of the season we would be sitting top of the league now. At the time of writing we have played 36 games and that form would have given us 69 points, 3 clear of the rest. The most encouraging fact is the team that has done that have an average age of 23, so they will get better.

The off fields shenanigans could well spoil the hope for next season Our young players could be sold and Redfearn may not be given another contract. At Leeds you get used to having any hope extinguished quite quickly.

But, as it stands the hope is there for the time being. We may need to add about 3 quality signings to what we have for next season but then, providing the rest of the team is allowed to stay, the future is all white.

Hope Redfearn gets the new contract he deserves. Looks like he could be the manager that finally takes Leeds back to the Premier League in the next year or two.
