That's not logical unless you equate the value of City's best 2-3 players as even with Liverpool's best 2-3 players.

You basically said that us missing our best 2-3 players was irrelevant as City were in the same position. I'm simply pointing out that, due to squad quality, they have superior replacements.

Right, so how does that support the original post (excuse) I responded to?

With a fit Sturridge, Henderson and Sakho, I would give us a chance. Our record against city isn't too bad in recent years.

If Silva and Aguero miss, Manchester City are missing more quality than that - strange excuse.

I posited that, despite City having better replacements, they are missing players of higher quality, thus the gap between first choice and replacement level is about even - thus the irrelevance of G- Dragon's excuse. So you disagree with G-Dragon making excuses, but you feel compelled to make it obvious that Manchester City have better replacements? :conf:

I've never been a big fan of using injuries as an excuse though. Sometimes it's just shit luck, but a lot of the time it's either a reflection of not buying enough players or of the correct fitness, or there being issues with how the club deal with injuries. For example, the latter we have to assume is at least part of Arsenal's issue in recent seasons.

Liverpool have had more injury issues than Arsenal in 2015.

So you believe the quality difference between City's first and second choices and Liverpool's first and second choices throughout the team are even?

So you disagree with G-Dragon making excuses, but you feel compelled to make it obvious that Manchester City have better replacements?

I'm simply having a discussion on a forum. I'm not using injuries as an excuse now nor will I if we lose, all clubs get injuries and it's the club's responsibility to avoid them and manage them when they happen. Or do you believe discussing the difference in quality between player replacements equates pre-emptively using injuries as an excuse for a potential loss?

Liverpool have had more injury issues than Arsenal this calendar year. Maybe there is something fundamentally wrong with Liverpool's approach? :fish:

Indeed, perhaps there is unfortunately. It's certainly something I've certainly considered recently.

Liverpool always seem to play awesome against us for some reason and I think they'll do well again here. No particular reason why they should, just my gut feeling.

I'd be over the moon with any win. I voted draw in the poll though any result feels possible here.

I think Coutinho is not very good and massively overrated. Therefore he'll probably score another 30 yard screamer in this.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
It will be interesting to see the reaction of the fans to the lad playing against his old club. He left after a long contract wrangle in a move that, despite being a step up on the pitch based on recent league finishes, was all about the money according to many, with plenty of questions asked about how much pitch time he will get and how that would effect his chances with the England squad.

But enough about Danny Sturridge.... Have Liverpool got any really original and funny snake pictures on the go. Can't wait for that...

I don't think many Liverpool fans on here are bothered about Sterling in this match tbh, as much as the media are trying to drive it. Yes he wanted out and engineered with his agent to do so in rather a crude and despicable way, but the club got £40 mill for him, and both got what they wanted in the end. Personally whenever I see Sterling play for City now it honestly doesn't phase me whatsoever, I neither bother about him doing well or otherwise. Put it this way, I don't miss him in the way I miss some of the other ex-Liverpool players who moved on.

It makes for good copy, but I'm sure he will get a hostile reception from the Liverpool fans, as Delph did at Villa.

I thought it was interesting with the similarities between Sterling and Sturridge... I may be wrong, but I don't recall any death threats or racist abuse to Sturridge, but that's probably more that twitter wasn't around then, and dickheads found it harder to anonymously do that sort of 'banterish hi jinks'

I would have been far more confident in this fixture had the injury to Sakho not occured. His complete lack of discipline could result in a festival for KDB, Sterling etc...

However, we always seem to turn it on for City and Klopp has had a couple of weeks to prepare so I'm going to opt for a ridiculously optimistic 2 - 1 to Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Mickey Quinn is using talksport to tell Liverpool fans to boo him. Haha.
