I’d say that’s not great news for us and our slim survival hopes.

Woodgate seemed to not have a clue what he was doing at all, not a lot of time for Warnock to do his thing but would have thought he’d be able to at least make them very tough to beat. Think they will pick up enough points with him around to stay up. We really needed them and Hull to go on properly disasterous runs to have a shot at it probably.

How much influence can he have in such a short period of time though? He hasn't even had the mini pre-season to work with them.

I still believe that 50 points will not be enough this season.

Warnock gained 24 points from 16 matches when he came in to rescue us in 2016 and we only took 1 point from his first 3 matches while he was sorting out a system for the players at his disposal.

I know its tough to turn Boro's fortunes around in 8 games, but he has better players than we had and I for one wouldn't bet against him keeping them up.

Boro are safe.

Huddersfield could be in trouble, those Cowley's are shite.

Think the Cowley's have been hard done to by my adopted home town club. Kept the Terriers up, should have been given a chance to shape the squad properly.

Maybe they will get Nigel Pearson in who has weirdly been sacked by us.

I mean even if the Pozzos didn't want to keep him the guy was out of contract in a week..

Now we've probably got to pay him off and face some sort of legal case.

I really don't get what Watford / Pozzos want. What is the point of this continual stream of managers? 13 managers since the Mafia took over in 2012. They've had less than 50 managers in their entire history! Are the fans not getting a bit fed up of this?

Well would be be nice to have some stability!

But basically once the manager falls out with the owners they are gone it seems.

There are the usual rumours going around about in fighting etc .

I think most fans would just like to see some younger fresher players.

Our squad must be the oldest in the league !

Tricky as the Pozzos have done a lot of good for the club but too many changes can lead to a decline and eventually you get relegated.

I don't think he likes the media but I thought had been quite calm and relaxed with us but seems not going by the rumours going around !

I’d rather have our board of directors in League One than the Pozzos in the premier league. Are the fans not getting hacked off with being Udinese’s feeder club?

To be fair that whole situation seems to have died off of late, which is one of the problems, from the outside in it looks like the squad needs a refresh (I mean Craig Cathcart seems to play serious minutes for them!) but the conveyor belt from Udinese has come to a halt somewhat and the new players coming in aren’t of high enough quality.

Think scouting wise the Pozzo “network”
has been left behind.

Not really - we hardly have any transfers between the 2 clubs.

If anything they get our cast offs.

We are the Pozzo's main club now.

Tbh signing decent players from them was better than spending 18 million on Andre Gray and paying him 70k a week!

I don't think many fans will be hacked to off at being in the Premier league for 5 years and having a much improved ground.

Frustrated by this season sure but happens to all teams of our size
We had Bassini before the Pozzos so it's not as bad as it could have been.

Least we are stlll in existence which might have been the case before they came in.

Yes think you are right - we seem to either buy ageing players or young hopes for the future who don't play or turn out to be rubbish.

I would agree we have recruited badly for a year or so.

Generally they have done a solid job but sometimes squads do need a good refresh.

Seems to me they have spent a fair bit on players who can’t get work permits to the UK yet, and are therefore cheaper with high upside, but come with risk. They end up being farmed out on loan to one of there other clubs in the hope they progress. Seems that latest crop of those sorts of player hasn’t really progressed as you would have liked, leaving you lot with a few holes to fill with ageing players.

For instance I’m not sure you bring in welbeck this season if Penaranda, who was touted as a big talent a few years ago, had come on as you would have wanted. Those players not developing has really stopped you from building on what was a decent foundation in the Premier League and as we know, if you aren’t going forward you’re being left behind.

Very true - plan seems to be to bring in a lot of younger players in the hope they come good basically to sell on in the future.

And most get sent out on loan at first - got 3/4 playing in La Liga.

Trouble is not many have!

Only Richarlison really.

They should have just stuck with their 15/16 manager, tbh. Almost got them in to europe.

Flores?

Well we had a good start but drifted towards the end of the season and he didn't want to stay.

Not really sure why he was re - appointed though!

He flopped and they clearly didn't like Pearson despite the generally decent job he was doing.

I've been worried about Bristol City appointing Alex Neil but seems they're going with that Holden bloke who has been caretaker. Odd decision for a club with money.

Probably but think they were just expecting more.

These managers have to start somewhere though.

Least they have one!

And probably won't be looking over his shoulder from day one.
