Welcome to the forum mate.

So many good battles for both promotion and relegation across the football league this season. I think you'll have enough- I've seen you a couple times this season after moving up to Scarborough due to a work contract.

TB
cheers

York will be fine, I've seen a lot of teams worse than them, including us.

I think york played pretty well, even though we were hopelessly dire.

Not that Id want it to happen, but I can't Think of a showing as bad as that under cox - it was just elementary and basic mistakes we made, it was totally unacceptable.

All 4 goals we conceded were pathetic. The first, A header unchallanged by any of our lot as the near post from a corner, the second looked miles offside but even then he beat 2/3 defenders before beating Pidgely at his near post. At that point I got up and went back into the bar, Was just about to get up and go out again as York headed in a 3rd, Free header in the 6 yard box from another corner and the 4th happened as I was walking back out so missed that, But looking at the highlights we just let him run into the box before even thinking of sticking a foot in.

At the end of the game they got booed off and rightly so, then Jamie McGuire decides to give abit back to the fans. I was stood at the bottom and I can tell you now there was nothing but boos and shouts of rubbish, pathetic etc.

Easily the worst performance of the season, Even worse than last week. Murray seemed broken in his Interivew, I think he knows that 90% of that lot aren't good enough. I expect to see big changes in the Summer!

But at what point do you blame the manager of the players?

Even if we were struggling for wingers playing 532 at home to york was something I expected from cox.

Why was thomas on the bench?

Murray has been found wanting on many occasions this season - but also, it is realistic to expect that a new manager managing a side in league 2 is going to learn new things.

I expected better after hartlepool, but obviously not

It's always going to be difficult bringing in a young inexperienced manager into a struggling side used to playing a certain system. Does he try and change the style of play that was so effective under Cox. Does he have the respect of individuals he was on the same level with the week before. Don't think it was ever going to be an easy ride regardless.

At this moment I would say Mansfield are the worst team in the league. Theyre the lowest scorers and now they cant defend. I think theyve got enough points in hand though.

Not quite Hartlepool have scored 2 less

33 goals is an absolute piss poor return. We are never going to score whilst we play 1 upfront and can't even get the ball into the box. For fuck sake, in the Exeter and Wycombe home games when we actually played proper football we created more chances in those 2 games than we have made all fucking season.

Big game for Pools coming up at York. Big away ticket sales but crowds can only help win a match. Interesting times at the arse end of League 2.

Or scary times, depending on who is your club.

Question Mr Cranium. Why aren't you playing Bingham up front in a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2? He was a right fucking nuisance for us in those formations. He was terrorising defences. We were gutted he got recalled and then you don't use him and aren't getting any better.

Seems a bit daft to say the least.

He played yesterday, Hit the bar aswell.

We barely ever play with 2 up front, and when we do it's Oliver and Kee who tend to be playing. There is only one way Bingham is going to score goals for us and that's by playing football and actually being fed the ball to create chances. We are wank mate, We are a poor poor side who have managed to grind out a few wins at home. I don't think we are going to go down but we need improvements in the Summer. Can't see us selling 1200 Season tickets at this rate.

If I was Murray I'd use the playing for your contracts card, needs to bold with his next move potentially bringing some of the youngsters into play like Thomas and Fletcher.

Murray now needs to show his crudentials and kick the players arse into gear. It looked like no one wanted to play for the shirt yesterday.

We played him in two upfront with three behind, one deep. He ran 'em ragged. He was getting so much to run onto and he's pretty swift.

We passed the ball to Bingham cos we have a quality player on loan from Reading, Mansfield kicked their way to a safety position , and after years of non league who can blame them, perhaps they have been found out too late for this season, they need to change next year, having Bingham is a good start

Totally agree mate. A lot of our players are conference standard.

When you just survive a good manager will move you forward. Last year we just survived, unfortunately we had the worst manager in our history who simply got shot of our best player and re signed the rest before having a holiday and missing 2 weeks of pre season , I'm not sure of Binghams contract; but if I hear he's being let go then I will have worries for you based on my bad manager theory

I think 75% of this squad will be let go in the Summer. I don't think Bingham will be on of those.

I actually forgot we had Matty Blair at the club! Maybe he will come good but he did nothing in the games he did play IMO.

Brown started good but has been awful for ages. Get rid.

Excluding the youth lot the only players I'd keep right now are Clements, Lambe and Bingham. Elder aswell if possible, and maybe Sutton if we play him at CB!

I don't think we've got much to play with at all.

With the youth players, Id keep beevers - purely for the utility options he provides, Id keep Clements and possibly ravenhill who might off experience to the midfield.

my main concern is the defence - it looked pretty alright under cox as his dull, uninspiring football rarely left them exposed - the pitiful of murrays more adventurous style of play is that we've found they aren't good enough for anything more than a midtable league 2 side. Why riley and tazafolli have been Upto lately is beyond me.

The concern I have for the summer - on the assumption (not taken lightly) we stay up is what contacts does adam have? One of the reasons as well as experience I wanted dearden back was for just that - he knows people.

Id like to see us keep pidgeley too - been happy with him in general since he moved here. Not at fault for any of the 4 goals yesterday

I got told we offered Dearden a role, But he turned it down due to £££.

I think Muzza has the contacts, I wondered why were getting a few players from Scunny then realised Ned Kelly is the assistant there. I think Murray needs to sack Cooper off and bring in an expierenced assistant to offer help though. If we could get that Murray, Moore and some experience would be very good.

We will more than likely raid Oxford in the Summer though
