Hi Guys.

Found my way over here. A big shout out to deuce_bigalow for taking the time to register on the Alfreton forum just to tell me you guys had moved here. Much appriecated mate. Thanks

Well was out today but I am over the moon with the result!! Bradley Wood is our new King of Pens with 4/4! Honestly cannot remember the last time we where awarded two pens in a game. All three in the game were stonewallers apparently. Dissapointed to let Welling back in at the end like that but the result was all that mattered. Need to build on this now starting with FGR on Saturday which we be just our second home league game since November!!

Great win for Macc today. Can they be ruled out of the title race yet?! Would be level on points with Rovers should they win their game in hand.

And what the hell happened at the Racecourse today?? I bet RedPassion is livid. Got to be on thin ice now.

And I see everyones favourite shayman has joined!

LOL Thanks Luke

Have to say I was pleased Alfreton won today. I've got a soft spot for them for reasons I'm not totally sure of... think it's because you gave us Akinde and you put up a real good fight at the Hive earlier this season. Would be a shame to see you go down, especially when there's a team like Welling who get by season after season with a stadium barely fit to host dog races.

Hope you continue this good form!

We were very poor today. It's unforgivable to play over an hour without a striker when you've got three on the bench and then only put on the least experienced of them when we're chasing the game. I think Macclesfield came to sneak a goal to win it and they did that. IT didn't make for the most exciting of games, but I can't remember a meaningful chance we had.

4 games lost on the bounce at Aggborough now and our next three home games are Eastleigh, Woking and Halifax. We need to start getting results at home again as soon as possible. Fortunately we've won our last 3 away games so fingers crossed this will continue this week.
You'll probably find speaking to most sides we have played away this season a similar story. Alfreton/Bristol aside we never tend to score/concede many goals with the main focus being if we win our home games and whatever we pick up away is a bonus. Seems to be doing alright for us so far!

Rofl Dartford. Good to see them making the most of their reprieve. Dover on a roll, playoff bound?

Not the greatest game of football ever but a very good 3 points in the end. Neither team looked like winning it for the first hour with Kiddy perhaps shading the first half. Rhys Taylor only had to make 1 save all afternoon to deny Johnson from range while poor decision making when we were counter-attacking let us down.

Second half started the same, the introduction of MBH made a big difference though and we had a string of corners with one ending up in the back of the net. Happy for Grant who had a very good game and probably wouldn't have played had we signed Waterfall! Less than 3 minutes later we'd doubled our lead thanks to Fairhurst scoring from near the half-way line! Should've finished it off with 5 minutes to go but Kiddy never really looked like getting back into it.

Was expecting a tough game and didn't know whether we'd be rusty or refreshed after over two weeks with no game. For the first hour looked like we we'd come for a draw and 0-0 seemed the most likely result. Kiddy's lack of striker definitely showed but they did win the midfield-mud battle for most of it.

Very tough and important game next week against Lincoln; Askey believes we can win the league (and has got a team who enjoy playing for him and probably believe it too) but not sure I'd agree!

Can see Alfreton staying up at the expense of Welling - the latter have made a managerial appointment that is very poor on paper. They've signed four aged 35+ players over the past few weeks which doesn't bode well. Welling a very good bet to go down IMO.

Can't see any distinct quality in that Welling side on paper - whereas Alfreton have personnel which would make you think they could get on a little run.

Toss up between Dartford and Nuneaton for the wooden spoon.

Didn't even realise TFF had gone for good - just thought it was down for maintenance or something :(

We were quite poor I thought today, more so in the second half and to be honest I was quite happy to get a draw in the end. Pretty disappointed that (from the highlights at least) it looks as if the two offside goals should have stood. Woking played a different style to the style they used at the return game earlier in the season, but still looked a handful at times with Lafayette and then Rendell providing a physical presence. We were so narrow in the second half and lacked creativity, meant Easter had very little impact when he came on so I'll reserve judgement for another time.

It was a bit of a shambles off the pitch, a couple hundred Rovers fans locked out. Plenty of room in the home terrace (particularly in the second half) so I don't really see why they couldn't have been put in there - enough police for it to be segregated properly. But there we go.

What on earth happened at Wrexham today? Very poor or did Telford step it up big time? I know they've been improving under Kittrick but still...

Wish I shared your optimism guys. I just feel we may concede that one goal to many. I mean we crushed Welling 3-0 for 85 minutes switched off and bang 3-2 and hanging on. We were missing other key members of the team today too Dan Bradley and Paul Clayton both proven at this level. We have won every single game so far against the Bottom 5. That must continue and we must may ourselves tough to beat at home any more performances like Macc and I fear for us

@DSL: Even in that game against us I was impressed by a few of your players going forward, will cause any team problems. But your defence was a bit pants...

So we're on a playoff push, it seems. Surreal, but brilliant.

This.

It is odd that the only teams to have beaten us since the middle of October are Folkestone Invicta and Crystal Palace.

Anyway, always good to beat Dartford...personally, that's revenge for a 4-0 stuffing at their place a couple of years ago.
The first half was more or less even, though I think we helped them by being rather generous with the ball. At 1-1 they seemed pretty certain that they should have had a penalty...couldn't see from the River End :dk: We scored 5 minutes later and went into half time 2-1 up.

Second half was a cakewalk hehe!

Oh, hello by the way...I personally hope that tff will be back soon so we can say goodbye properly.

A fair result I thought. From the highlights it certainly looks like Taylor is offside for the first one. It's difficult to tell from the camera angle on the second but the clues are in the reaction from our defence, in that they all stopped and also Taylor briefly looking up to see whether he is offside. As for what happened with your fans that weren't allowed in, there were 50 not a couple of hundred. Those that weren't let in were also, apparently, your troublesome lot so it was perhaps a good thing they didn't gain access to the ground. Hats off to your travelling 1800 though. No trouble inside the ground that I am aware of and made a good noise at times without a roof.

We were not good enough.

Overrun in the middle, and awful at the back. Stephens looks properly unfit. Still, five points clear and all that...

Welcome Gashead, nice to see you're still about.
I gather your fans had some bother today getting in? Bit of a balls up by all accounts. Great support to be fair. You need to get out of this tinpot league WTGR, waay too big to be down here!

About 30 got left outside I think because the away end was full, although it looked like there was space to me.

Grimsby were very good. MA got our starting XI wrong as bar a 15 minute spell before half-time, we were never able to win and retain possession and actually work the Grimsby defence (who defended pretty well)
I still think Urban is being unduly pessimistic, it's still in our hands.
