Grimsby gonna [edit] and battering again but at FT 3:0 for Boreham?

And hows our team for this game? 13 players and win 2:0. They need to cut us more if they wanna take point from us :cool1:

i expect us to lose against FGR, but I hope we have a decent referee. FGR got away with GBH last season.

We'll be without Howe again (out for a month with ankle ligament damage), so Nat Brown will probably continue. Hearn returned to full training earlier in the week. Doubt he'll start, but if does, a front three of Hearn, Rhead and Hawkridge doesn't look too shabby on paper.

Nil points. We're too easy to play through thanks to a weak midfield (IMO).
What has been wrong with Hearn?
I thought he missed our game with a bug so
expected him to be alright to play for you on
Monday so I was surprised when I saw he was still out.

I'm going to Chester V FGR with my mate, as for some reason I didn't fancy going to Welling for a 12:30 kick off!

Seems like this game in the eyes of our fans is make or break for Whild, 7 games and no wins yet but played some of the hardest teams in the division. Apparently Langmead has been back in full training for the first time this week so hopefully he can come back into the team instead of Rowe-Turner who was awful on Monday.

Hamstring twinge. He was ill for the FGR game, but failed fitness tests before the games against you and Gateshead.

Sense plenty of goals in our game, but no idea on the result.

Our season will be 'fine' with or without Hurst, we'll make playoffs minimum and we'll even have a proper look in at the title once our typical early season faffing about comes to an end. The question will be whether we've given ourselves too much to do once again. By no means is our season in meltdown.

I suspect it will be if we lose tomorrow though.

Just looked at the table for the first time in fortnight. What the hell has happened to Grimsby?

To try and put a balanced view on it. We have largely been punished for missing chances and conceding some soft goals.

The games I've seen we have looked the better side. Apart from the 1st half vs Torquay due to a very strange manager's selection but even in that game we were 2-0 down but second half was so one way we could easily have won it but ended up with a 2-2 draw.

Macclesfield was almost the opposite. So comfortable in the first half, could have been 2 or 3 up but missed our chances. Then at the end of the first half the keeper drops a clanger and we go in 1-0 down. A bright start to the second, a couple more missed chances followed by a second Macclesfield goal against the run of play. We never really looked like breaking Macclesfield down after that.

That's kind of the story of our season so far. We have mainly been playing fairly well but to win football matches you need to take your chances and cut out the defensive errors.

I'm still confident we will sort it out, I wouldn't be surprised if we went on a long unbeaten run once we have. Will FGR/Eastleigh be too far in front by then? That is the question.

Gut feeling we'll lose at Alty, hope I'm wrong and we can carry on the unbeaten run!

I'll stick my neck out for a 1-2 win at Torquay. We've created so many chances in games and failed to convert them, our luck in front of goal has to change sometime!

I always scroll past Sparrows posts.
That video is nauseous.

Certainly nauseous, and Sparrow thinks he's showing us all what a a great goal it was. From that video's angle it actually shows the opposite ie how easy it was. A nothing special goal.

Agreed with LukeImp about our midfield. Early to tell at the minute but first impressions are that Nolan and Power are a bit stale and seem to have gone backwards. Need both Stanley and Sparrow in there for me. 0-2 on Saturday.

I said the other week about how with a bit of luck which we've been desperately short of, we'll go on a good run.

Problem is, Hursts rotation isn't helping that. Can't fault the squad he's delivered but to continue in the same vein as every year with 'the players are tired' 7 games in and the random dropping of players has happened one too many seasons for me. I just can't quite fathom what he's thinking sometimes, especially as he knows fine well it's never worked.

Think our six-game unbeaten run will come to an end tomorrow. We generally struggle at Macclesfield and the injuries will have to take their toll at some point. Nonetheless, I'll be heading up there. :bravo:

We will concede from a set piece or headed goal. But we have enough in attack to be troubling them as well. 2-2.

I'm refusing to make any predictions.

I think it will be a tough game, but there's no reason we can't get all 3 points. By the same token Alty have done well at home. I expect the same starting lineup as Monday.

Having two midfielderss with the combined age of 65 playing against Wrexham really isn't a good idea. I can see why people don't like Nolan but we desperately need his mobility in there, otherwise we'll get countered to shreds.

We don't beat Forest Green, we've literally even tried to get away with not turning up to face them before now. ;)

According to CityMapper (great app), it's 76 minutes door to door by bus. Cab is 22mins and that should get you in for kick off - granted no clue what traffic is like there - however it's likely to be £39+ apparently.[/QUOTE

Thanks for your input, if it doesn't work out I'll fall back on plan B and go to a pub instead.

Which end are you going in?

I'm having a weekend off football before our two 'derbys' next weekend. Rovers and telly don't mix, but hoping we can scrape a result fom the trip to Welling.

He runs round like a headless chicken for me, think Power and Nolan just aren't playing well enough to start. Hopefully Hawkridge will some much needed pace to our midfield. If we can get 70 minutes out of Hearn like he did against Macc he'll do enough to get us something out of the game.

A class act is Hearn. It's a few years since i saw him play. Alfreton v Guiseley - he tore our defence to shreds back then. Scored a hatrick if i remember correctly

He certainly is, we just need to manage his return to regular first team football very carefully and not over play him, we can't rush him.
