Ah no, it's a good effort from the fans. No-one's disputing that.

But if the Club has insurance, which let's me right is surely just a basic thing a football Club should have unless they're below National North/South, then you'd not need to do it. A SS says, duty of care.

This is a corker, "We really are a club to be proud of - doing things the right way.". Obviously fucking not.

So do you think the players sign assuming there's insurance? If they agree to sign then they have to be prepared to deal with what might happen if they get a serious injury. Not really sure what your point is. Lincoln fan tells Woking fan that their club isn't being run properly. At least you tried.

I'm not saying it isn't run properly, I was picking up the 'aren't the Club great' type comments when quite clearly you've left one of your best players hanging out to dry.

And yes, I think it'd be fair to assume as a player that you'd be insured against injury because it's a pretty standard and basic thing. Something so standard and basic that it probably isn't even thought about during negotiations. I don't know of any other Club at this level or above who don't insure players (Eastleigh Fan will probably be able to tell us, though...).

As I said in a previous post, I'd understand if lesser Clubs in North/South and below don't bother but not at this level.

No not really. In JJ's case the club and insurers looked after him for almost a year, it was only when he decided, against advice, to go for an unproven treatment that he had to look for alternative funding.

For all I, and you, know, you may have some sort of set-up where you claim on an ad hoc basis (is that the correct terminology?) whereby you claim as and when anything happens so you're 'gambling' on having no serious injuries in a season. That's obviously different to having no insurance full stop.

Thanks. It's one of those things I hadn't thought about until Scott Rendell's situation was publicised just assumed the players were insured.
