A trip darn sarf then.

We're in decent form, taking 10 points out of a possible 12. We're not playing particularly well, of which i've found myself stating in the bulk match threads that I've started this season.

We do have players coming back from injury, and influential ones at that. Billy Clarke and Josh Morris could make the bench, as they resumed training early this week.

Liddle has been dropped in midfield for the previous two outings, meaning a Knott and Evans cameo. This gives us more legs, and enables us to get further forward, whilst our make shift RM, Tony McMahon, tucks into the centre to cover and meaningful attack.

I expect the same starting 11;

Ben Williams

Stephen Darby
Rory McArdle
Reece Burke
James Meredith

Tony McMahon
Billy Knott
Lee Evans
Kyel Reid

Devante Cole
James Hanson

Burke's one of the best young defenders we've had in recent years, probably since the loan of John Egan (now at Gillingham). He's on loan from West Ham, and has been a rock at the back in recent games. There's also Kyel Reid and Billy Knott who are ex West Ham youth. They'll be eager to do well in this one, I imagine.

We managed 7 goals against them in the cup last season, but I don't think this one will be as easy. Millwall have a great attacking threat in Gregory and Morrison, and we'll have to play well to get anything down there.

2-2 (Cole x2)

9,102 (800 City).

We'll have to play a lot better than we did on Tuesday to get a result on Saturday. We're playing well but we're not playing particularly efficiently and a well-drilled side will exploit that.

Aiden O'Brien's the one to look out for. Morison and, of late, Gregory have been playing well but neither can finish for toffee. At the current rate both will end the season with about 10-15 goals when they've had the chances to put away 30 each. Be interesting to see how Hanson plays after the ridiculous Summer saga.

Agree with 2-2.

A somewhat interesting aside... the team that got thrashed @ Valley Parade last season:

  • 01 Forde
  • 02 Dunne
  • 03 Shittu
  • 16 Beevers
  • 07 L Martin
  • 26 Abdou
  • 30 Chaplow
  • 15 Upson
  • 14 Briggs
  • 09 Gregory
  • 19 Fuller

The team we'll most likely field on Saturday:

Archer

Edwards
Beevers
Craig
Martin

O'Brien
Saville
Williams
Ferguson

Morison
Gregory

Beevers and Gregory the only survivors, though Abdou and/or Upson would probably start if fit.

That Millwall side was the worst we faced all season, no surprise to see its been largely binned.
I don't think we'll win here on Saturday although our away form isn't bad at all, I'd take a draw right now but can see realistically a 2-1 defeat.

2-0 defeat. Millwall a decent side in good form, would be happy with a point here.

Bradford not exactly easy on the eye, but that was terrible game all-round. Didn't create enough. Squad lacks depth, all told. Need another striker in January.

No, but would take Cole if you're willing to accept 2 packets of MnM's and a special edition DVD boxset of Rising Damp.

Also, if O'Brien is played on the wing to accomodate Gregory as a supporting forward for Morison much longer, I'm going to be bald by Christmas. He is our best forward, our best player period, and is wasted out wide.

Championship clubs monitoring him, by all accounts.

He still has a lot to prove.

Still very rough round the edges, but something to work with there.
