That's a huge loss! Anyon is no fit replacement for him either to be honest. You're going to have to sign well in January now

Never nice to see someone have to retire due to an injury, As a keeper at 31 he could of easily had 7/8 more years at this level too.

CFC legend, and by all accounts one of the good guys as well. A real shame it's had to come to this but thanks for the last 9+ years, Tommy, it was a pleasure to watch you wear the shirt.

Would have made the effort to go the Carlisle game had got psychic powers and known it was going to be his last but sadly that's just where i am with this club at the minute.

We had the same with John Thompson not so long back, and whereas he'd spent most of his time at County, it was still a shame to see happen.

Hopefully he'll be able to find a role within the football club, or in the wider community of football.

Never good when a fans favorite suffers from a long injury, we had racine who's knees just just keep going, amazing bloke and has great ability but injuries keep holding him back. Let's hope this lad can get a chance in coaching.

We're in a similar boat with Lee Beevers. Well, he was out of contarct in the summer but still around the club recovering. Just over a year since his injury and he's still not back. He's coming up to 34 and with the severity of his injury, I doubt he will be.

Can't remember exactly what he did, but it was something like a ruptured patella and partial dislocation of the knee, which ripped and ruptured just about every ligament around it.

Beevers used to get a shoulder popped out or something most games when he played for Mansfield, he always carried on!

Beevers is a proper warrior!

Fuck me nothing seems to be going right for the spireites. I'm even starting to feel sorry for them.

Its a shame for Tommy Lee having to retire from the game at such a relatively young age. Always thought he very good lower league keeper. And although it would have never happened, one i would have liked to see in the goal for the stags.

Hopefully CFC will honour him and give him a deserved testimonial game.

EDIT: Just read the link and good too see they have offered him a a testimonial game.

Yeah, his first did that here in Peter Jackson's first game against Chester. That was the start of his shoulder problems. He was forced off in that game because they couldn't pop it back in for him.

It's always a shame seeing a player in his prime having to retire from football because of injury good luck to him in any future career.
