It's alright lads, if we all chip in £75 each for a few sticky threads the adverts may be a thing of the past....

Come on guys were still 3rd and we haven't played for 2 weeks. I don't think you're trying very hard.

Can't believe County didn't beat Woking.
Another sure-fire winner bet fails :ffs:

Madness betting on us against teams near the bottom or those out of form.

I’m going to enjoy the few months that Cal Roberts is here before he makes us a lot of money. Otherwise, it would be good if we could get the ball to him and Enzio more rather than playing triangles around a makeshift back four.

On account of Spotland being underwater, went to Stockport. Keeper had a great game, his performance deserved man of the match, as otherwise Bromley would have probably got a result. Hogan made a very interesting challenge in the first half, if he'd made any contact he'd probably have seen red... he looked good in patches when playing for us but never nailed down a spot in the team, this being a few years back in this league.

Dug out a point against a below-par Notts County. After 7 away defeats in a row it was nice to leave a game with something

Most annoying thing was their drum, it didn't stop THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP even when there was nobody joining in.

Poor performance, poor result against Woking. Only positive for home supporters Roberts

I thought Bird did pretty well too, considering. There’s definitely something frustrating about us, we’re very hard to beat and defensively strong but just not quite the sum of our parts going forward. We seem too intent on having possession and trying to score the perfect goal rather than just putting teams under pressure.

He did as well as I expected. Still 4th choice centre back for me.

Agree with your summary, it's a fine line, tough to balance. Need to mix it up and go direct a tad more but I like possession football.

Centre midfield doesn't actually create much for the strikers. Best balls forward yesterday came from Bird at centre half and Dennis to Wooton. Rose is having a nightmare season in terms of passing the ball forwards and really needs 'resting'.

2 games now scheduled for Tuesday;-

Barnet v Harrogate (attempt 2)
Barrow v Dover (attempt 3)

Barnet v Harrogate;-
Will the swamp have drained enough for this fixture to go ahead given Barnet's postponements in January and February? and if it does will Harrogate be able to cope with the heavy pitch?

Barrow v Dover;-
This is the 3rd attempt to get this match played - the 1st attempt was on non-league day when Dover's players decided they'd rather have a few beers at Crewe station instead of face a delayed kick off against Barrow. The 2nd attempt was postponed due to a FA Trophy replay. So far it looks like attempt 3 will go ahead as there's been little or no rain since late Saturday and the high winds have dried out the waterlogged pitch. Should there be no prolonged heavy rain the game should go ahead. Barrow will have a full strength team with Hird available who missed the match at Dover 2 weeks ago and also loan signings Dan Jones from Salford (Barrow's best defender last season) and Jamie Soule a striker from WBA also available.
There's a rumour that Dover are flying up on the day for the match - the last Kent side to do that were Gillingham in 1961... They arrived late and Barrow won 7-0 - the game was actually abandoned after 76 minutes due to poor light, but the Football League decided the result should stand. Barrow havn't beaten a Kent side 7-0 since 4th January this year... so Dover a due a stuffing and deserve one for failing to fulfil the original fixture.

I thought O’Brien was even worse on Saturday to be fair, but he does have the excuse of having been injured.

I’d like Ardley just to take a few more risks, I think. Having the best defence in the league is great (and particularly impressive as it’s never really been a settled back four due to injuries), but I wonder whether the defensive work that we’re asking Enzio, O’Brien, Rose etc to do is costing us more going forward than it gains us at the back.

Fair enough assessment, there's not really much else to talk about since it struggled to get going for either team. Gannon always focuses on discipline for his teams, usually end the season top (or bottom, however you look at it) of the fair play league, so I'd hope Hogan fixes that side of his game. Only a couple of weeks since we picked up a red for a similar, reckless challenge by Turnbull, too. Aside from that he looked excellent for this level, he looks to attack the ball so should settle in nicely alongside Palmer who tends to cover.

Sets us up nicely for a bit of pisstaking after a 1-0 loss.

Rose and to a degree Doyle aren't attack minded midfielders. We've missed Booty and not played Crawford enough who may not be as physical as Rose but does have a range of passing Rose is never going to have.
