Dagenham & Redbridge (18) v Ebbsfleet United (24)
Woking (4) v Sutton United (17)
Barnet (10) v Boreham Wood (6)
Barrow (1) v AFC Fylde (20)
Chesterfield (22) v Solihull Moors (5)
Dover (15) v Bromley (3)
Eastleigh (12) v Aldershot Town (19)
Harrogate Town (7) v Hartlepool United (13)
Notts County (11) v Maidenhead United (16)
Stockport County (9) v FC Halifax Town (8)
Wrexham (21) v Chorley (23)
Yeovil Town (2) v Torquay (14)

Start of the busy Christmas/New Year fixtures and the 2 most crucial games look like being at Dagenham and Wrexham.

Dagenham v Ebbsfleet;-
Dagenham are in free fall and have no points from their last 5 games whilst Ebbsfleet although bottom have 8 points from their last 5 away games (W2 D2 L1) and an Ebbsfleet win really tightens up the bottom of the table - everyone from Torquay down will start worrying about relegation. Dagenham really need to make a decision about Taylor's future or alternatively Taylor needs to get well enough to actually take the helm and steer the ship before it runs aground and sinks. Ebbsfleet away win

Wrexham v Chorley;-
I tipped up Wrexham to lose at Sutton thinking they would bounce back and get 7 points from the next 3 games, but the manner of the defeat was worse than expected so anything can happen here. Wrexham have 7 points from their last 5 home games, but have only scored 6 goals in them 5 games and really seam to struggle against the bottom teams. Chorley meanwhile have 5 points from their last 5 away games, scoring 8 and conceding 10 including being the only away team in the last 7 matches to get a point at Barrow. Tough one to call, but I fancy Chorley will score a goal and i don't fancy Wrexham to get 2. 1-1 Draw

elsewhere;-
Leaders Barrow start a run of 3 games where they only picked up draws last season with AFC Fylde who they have never beaten, however they drew both last years games after losing all previous meetings and only late wonder saves from Lynch (?) denied them victories in both matches. Barrow have won 6 and drawn 1 of their last 7 home games, Fylde have only lost 1 of their last 5 away games. This will probably be a tight game as Barrow haven't won any of their last 4 home games by more than 1 goal.

Yeovil should beat Torquay who seam to have forgotten what a win is and even managed to lose to Chesterfield last time out.
Dover v Bromley is another tough one. Dover really need a home win (10 points from the last 10 home games and only 2 wins), but Bromley have only won 2 (and lost 3) of their last 5 away and seam a much weaker team without the suspended Chris Bush. low scoring Draw.
Woking, Barnet, Notts County, Eastleigh, Harrogate and Stockport
should all win at home.
Chesterfield v Solihull - after an amazing win at Torquay can Chesterfield win again against a Solihull team that has not won in 3 matches?? who knows what Chesterfield team will turn up - not me, not Chesterfield fans and Sheridan seams clueless at the best of times? Draw??

We'll never beat Fylde. 1-1 at best.

We play better away from home - so this is probably the hardest of our next 3 games.

Edit... IF we can beat them and Hartlepool away then there is a good chance we will outnumber Fylde fans in the New Year match at Fylde...

Big game at THL.

Boreham Wood are in great form and have moved somewhat unnoticed into the top 7 after their latest injury time goal in their win over Harrogate.

We sit just three points adrift of Boreham Wood, with a game in hand. We come into this one on the back of three successive wins, albeit all against bottom half sides.

This is a real test of both sides play off credentials but probably a must win for us if we are to mount a serious play off challenge.

I would expect a very similar game to last season where we play some nice football and dominate possession but create very few clear cut chances. Tough one to call.

Now we are back in should win territory we probably won't. We added 3 more to the injury bench at the weekend, but as we say we do have strength in depth.

I think this is a bring a mate for free(cheap) with a voucher from ST so that could inflate the crowd a little.
Is this our local Derby festive fixture, yeah Maidenhead.

2-0 Notts with just over 5,500 merry peeps

Will be a tough game against BWood. We’re gaining confidence but that has happened several times over this squads tenure so far and it’s never lasted too long simply because our poor performers get found out eventually. Given that our poorest performers are in defence and we’re up against Tshimanga, Marsh and Shaibu (all of whom would be welcome additions to all teams in this league) then I think we’re going to become unstuck here.

Hopefully my pessimism is wrong though!

Got my ticket for Harrogate, 930 sold out allocation, probably could've sold double, but what can you do.

No idea which Pools will turn up, there's the one that can steam roll teams or the more prevalent one that rolls over for a belly tickle.

Can't predict anything with this lot, over 2.5 goals looks a certainty though.

Pessimism?! You haven't predicted us to be relegated (yet) this season! You're a changed man :2thumb:

Surely Barrow have to batter Fylde, after all they are as good as the 1970 Brazilian team Chipmunx has kindly let us all on the League 2 forum know.

Nowt wrong with Chipmunx checking out the L2 forum is there. Why wait til May before introducing yourself to your new friends when you can do it now? If I were him I'd probably check out the L1 board as well just in case.

God knows, we are so inconsistent. The team which turned up in the second half at Halifax are as good as anything in this league, but we hadn’t seen it since battering Woking away back in October. Would be no surprise if we follow it up with a tame 1-1 draw at home.

Looking forward to the more familiar emotions of a relegation battle kicking in at 5pm on Thursday. There's a lot to be said for getting back to normality after Christmas. :ds:

Things will only get better for us once Balanta returns, he is Taylor’s life saver and has kept us from the lower echelons since the start of the season. We have lost to Chorley, Sutton and Maidenhead all below us on the current run of 5 straight league defeats so fill your boots Ebbsfleet.

We’re in this relegation scrap now as the abysmal last 3 months run of form can’t be turned around that easily.

Certainly a tougher test than the D&R no show.
Last week for 70 minutes we were excellent ,until we pressed the self destruct button.
Sublime to ridiculous in less than 20 minutes.
I do fancy a win Boxing Day though, due to the loan players coming in.

Hard to get excited about Pools doing something this season, they show signs of looking like a team one week, then a circus act the next, let’s see what return they get from Harrogate twice and Barra.

I’m guessing Halifax as they won they league in September.

They’ll both have to fight it out with Dagenham as they’d already won it in pre season.

Next few games will pretty much tell us how we’ll do this season

No Daggers fan I know thought we would win the league I had us not even making play offs due to Taylor and his failure to sign s decent striker. Was there one in here that did? Needs head checking if so.

Now what sort of crazy fans would think that having a great pre season means that they are gonna win that league.......?

we lost our 2nd pre-season friendly 2-1 against a local select 11 who included 3 players playing in non-league level 4 and 8 amateurs.... and look how our season is going... pre-season is mainly just about getting the squad fit.

Yep. That's been the pattern over both our histories. It's why we're shit, Brother. :bdick:
