Hopefully it won't be too affected. It was certainly match of the year so far for me

Shame his entrance wasn't up to his normal theatrical standards though

I've seen loads of people shit on the entrance, I thought it was cool. The paint could have matched the Leatherface theme they were going for.

NXT are touring the UK again in June... and of all places, they're actually doing a show in Plymouth!

First time I've ever known WWE to hold an event here. I was up at 3am Dallas time to get my tickets for it... managed to score second row! Absolutely can't wait. Missed out on NXT Takeover: Dallas live... I'm not sure this'll make up for it, but the sheer novelty of seeing NXT in Plymouth will still be amazing.

Joe finally won the NXT Championship at a live event last night. Hopefully that signals a main roster debut for Devitt and a reunion with Anderson and Gallows.

Smart way to do it. Protects the 'demon' side of Balor.
Really hope WWE pulls back in the demon body paint purely for huge matches

It'd be good business sense if anything - another reason to sign up for the network to see the PPVs.

Apparently when he lost his title he got up afterwards, grabbed a mic and said "see you Monday"...

But yeah, big shock to see him drop the title at a live event. And kind of annoying as it now means that's one big name I won't get to see at NXT in Plymouth in June... SONOFFA BITCH.

He may still do the tour. They often stagger the call ups.

I'm sure he'll still be there. But if not, Shinsuke Nakamura will be; which should be more than enough compensation.

Logically they have set themselves up by building the essence of the 'demon' making Balor unstoppable, and having him wear the paint on each PPV. Makes only logical way to drop.

It'll lead the the Balor Club fueding with AJ styles though. Which will be fantastic.

Yeah, Nakamura still being there alone will be enough. At axxess on the morning of Wrestlemania I was fortuante enough to actually see him wrestle a match against... one of Blake and Murphy. I actually can't remember which ... would love to see him again.

But yeah... Nakamura, Aeries, Bayley, Joe, American Alpha... will Hideo Itami by back by June? He must be due back some time soon for christ sake... but yeah, there's still plenty left on that roster to get excited about.

so who went to see them over the last week or so?

been pretty good by all accounts from what i have seen others post on social media. couldnt go myself to Liverpool as it clashed with my Wedding Anniversary!

Hugo Knox (ex goalie stuart tomlinson) has been getting a lot of exposure, probably do to being a Brit. wrestled a tag team main event with Roode, Nakamura and Balor i think at one point!

I went to the show in Plymouth last night... it was mind blowing just seeing these guys in my home town. Didn't think anything WWE related would ever come anywhere near this part of England, let alone Plymouth itself!

Last night was fucking incredible though. And I'd like to think that with the sheer fucking noise and energy of the crowd (it was about on a par with the two Raw's after Wrestlemanias I've been too...) it hopefully won't be long until WWE/NXT come back here.

To be honest though, it started off a little slowly. The above mentioned Hugo Knox vs Blake. Then (whatever his first name is) Dawkins vs some German dude who I remember seeing at Axxess who was shit then, and still shit now. Both of those were tame, but as they were the first two matches people were still excited enough to be into them.

But then shit started going nuts with the next match, a divas 2 vs 2... First out comes Peyton Royce, nobody cares. Then Alexi Bliss, ok cheers. Then Carmella, and the place starts to go a bit mental, with the "how you doin'" and such. Then Bailey. Holy shit. She was about as over as anybody I've ever seen. How that fucking Dana Brooke was called up the main roster before her is a mystery.

And then for the next match, god damn Bobby Roode came out. He fought No Way Jose, who I must say, I find annoying as shit. But he was entertaining enough here, and Roode won, which was great.

Next was Tye Dillinger (yet another guy who was MASSIVELY over) vs that Andrade Almas guy, in the first of three Takeover: The End rematches. Was fun as hell with how into it the crowd were, mostly because of Dillenger. Almas was pretty decent too, though.

Then there was an interval, followed by three great matches:

American Alpha vs The Revival for the tag titles: In the second Takeover rematch and this was AWESOME. AA really know how to work a crowd. About the only bad part was when the crowd got a "Jordan, give us a wave" chant going and he did it... and then when we tried with Gable he had no idea what was going on so didn't do it. Miserable sod  But there was another great point with Jordan coming in off of a hot tag and getting a "Jordans on fire, The Revivals terrified!" song out of it.

Asuka vs Nia Jax was next, and again, good enough. Pretty much a carbon copy of the takeover, even with the same screaming at each other then Asuka kicking her head off. Again, Asuka got a "Asuka's on fire!" song.

Then that fucking main event, holy shit. It's a TAG TEAM MATCH, PLAYAS:

Finn Balor and Nakamura vs Austin Aeries and Samoa Joe. Yeah you read that shit right. What a fucking experience it was seeing those four in the ring at the same time. The match, as you'd expect, was fun as hell.

All in all, one of the most fun wrestling nights I remember seeing. And considering the fact that includes two fucking Wrestlemanias, I think that speaks volumes about how good it was. Maybe it was just the magic of seeing it in Plymouth, rather than having to go across the world to see it. But yeah... if this was this good on a house show type thing, I can't fucking wait until NXT Takeover: Brooklyn

Watched my first episode of NXT today, was excellent - will be watching it on a weekly basis now.

Asuka ( ) and Hideo were great. Roode and Joe I already knew from TNA - both are fantastic. Not sure about Roode's entrance theme but his promo was excellent.

NXT doesn't work like other shows. You see a feud and some wrestlers one week, but you might not see them again for another two weeks after. It's a short show with lots to cram in. The specials are by far the best thing about it, often better than WWE's shows. You've jumped in after a golden period also:bg1: Still, exciting times as always.

I have to say, while this forum has been down the biggest disappointment for me has been the fact that I've not been able to come on and talk to you all about how GLORIOUS Bobby Roodes music is.

Oh my word. Is it fucking GLORIOUS or what?

It's exploded his popularity. A lot of us obviously already knew who he was from his TNA days, but even people who hadn't had a clue are now so fucking into him just because of that theme and that promo. It's amazing. It's like, so pretentious, so silly and over the top... but at the same time, you get the feeling that Bobby Roodes character completely does not see any form of a joke in it what so ever. He's just GLORIOUS, the music is GLORIOUS, and that's all there is to it.

Fucking hell. Can't wait until Takeover... the thought of 15,000 singing along to that in the Barclays center. That's going to be amazing.

He actually wrestled down here in Plymouth at an NXT Live show in June. Was pretty basic, but over as fuck because he was English

Dan matha :)

As someone that suffered with spots for a while I feel bad to say it, but could you imagine having to chop the guy? Your hand would be covered in blood and puss.

Blatantly a sted head? Do you think his hype promos for weeks before were purely for Joe to demolish him and he will never be seen again?

If so, great planning by wwe

I believe NXT is taped a month in advance, 4 shows at each taping. So I think that was definitely the plan. I agree, it was brilliantly done.
