Also - if JET doesn't start Tuesday I'm going to castrate Cotterill's bollocks.

Oldham fans cheering at final whistle when it's a draw?
We've been playing fairly shite recently but today was much better which is impressive considering we played top of the league. I think we have reason to be happy.

Beat Swindon Tuesday and automatic is a certainty.

But if Swindon beat MK and us, they'll be right back in it. Especially with us playing Preston next week.

Obviously a draw isnt the best result but I think some of us are overreacting a little bit, we are still in a fantastic position lets not forget we Swindon and Preston still have to play eachother and realistically 2 wins from 6 could be enough to seal automatic.

Winning a league is rarely as simple as winning your last 10 games and waltzing into the summer. Chillax.

Right, I was a bit peeved after the game and had a pessimistic few minutes.

Made a post on an OTIB thread but thought I may as well copy and paste it onto here as it sums up my thoughts more clearly;

Agreed - there is no use in worrying about others at this stage. I think if someone had offered you the chance for City to be eight/five points clear of second with 6 games to go at the start of the season, you'd have happily taken it.

Tuesday is the perfect opportunity to get revenge for their players' and fans' antics back in November, and what better way to get revenge than to completely destroy their hopes for automatic promotion at Ashton Gate.

No excuses, needs to be an electric atmosphere.

Come on City.

To be honest, our game tomorrow is key to every side.

Win and I think we'll also win on Tuesday, lose and the top 2 are gone, draw gives us a small sniff for 2nd but also ends Franchise interest

It's just the natural nerves at this point in the season, squeaky bum time and all that. Lose to both Swindon and Preston and suddenly it's very tight and we could be in trouble, anything else I think we'll be okay

Probably dead right with that assessment.

Be good to have a 3 team sprint to the end of the season - not that I expect you'd agree!

Not exactly, funnily enough! Suppose it would all be a bit anticlimactic though if we'd already sewn up the league by the time we played you :)

There's a fair few wrist-slitting 'on there' as is to be expected, but this post for me is spot on:
There's a great deal of negativity in the air but for me it has a lot to do with the fact that we scored a late goal in a tight game, and for a minute there we all thought "Yes! That is an absolutely massive moment!" - only to be brought crashing back down to Earth almost immediately when we were caught napping.

Cue an outpouring of frustration and I suspect a lot of posters who are predicting it will all go Pete Tong from here on in (those who aren't deliberately fishing, that is) are seeking reassurance from other posters that it will all be okay. Especially considering we now face our closest challengers in back-to-back games.

No-one can give that assurance, obviously, so we all try to cope with the nerves by driving ourselves batty by discussing ad nauseum the various ramifications from here on in. That includes some pointing out the worst case scenarios, unfortunately. There's also the psychological barrier of most of us never having experienced a City title in our lifetimes which means you can't help but succumb to that nagging voice.

Swindon have a massive game tomorrow and there's no telling which way that one might swing. In 24 hours we might be feeling decidedly more cock-a-hoop. Or the doubts might crank up a notch.

But a bit of perspective: we're still in the box seat. We need to suppress the nerves and focus on backing the lads to the bleeding hilt on Tuesday.

Remember how hard done-by we felt in November when we lost at Swindon. Let's channel that emotion and help the lads get a colossal three points on the board against them. Revenge and a huge mental lift.

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of your OTIBers thought that it would be sewn up weeks ago.

I suppose 5.00 next Saturday will make things fairly clear

Most people on here have been saying we've had it sewn up for weeks, it's the City fans who've been more pessimistic, we're just too used to screwing it up!

Disappointing performance. Oldham deserved the point although once we went 1-0 up I thought the game was ours. Please Cotterill don't make the same mistake again of starting Agard ahead of JET. People say JET can be a passenger but bloody hell when Agard plays it's like having 10 men sometimes. Must've touched the ball a maximum 10 times today, and most of those were miscontrolled

Draw probably about fair in the end. Nice team goal by us and bit of an odd one to concede with the bounce - but if you don't close down then it can happen.

Sick of Agard getting in for JET.

BTW - we might even have enough points already to be in the top 2 so no need to panic yet...

Not long back and everything seems to have been covered. We were poor today, make no bones about that. Great team goal for us, made by LF and a decent strike by Oldham. At the time I thought Frankie should have saved it but I haven't seen it again yet. Frankie also made 2 excellent saves so it's hard to be too critical. Sad to read about Mark Little but he did look in a bad way as he went off so it's not a surprise. JET for KA is a must now as anyone can run around a lot and do the square root of fook all! I don't want to have a go at KA but Cott's needs to act before the fans turn on the bloke TBH.
We've played better and lost games so a point isn't bad but it feels that way with Preston winning.
After a long drive (that M6 is shit!!), I'm off for a Thatchers or 6!

Um just because you put fact on the end off your sentence doesn't make it "fact"
On form I've no argument, JET on form is premier league quality. We don't see it enough. When he isn't on form, he spends more time on his ass and looks lethargic. At least agard offers something when not playing well! I'd still offer him a contract mind!
To be fair im not sure ive ever seen jet on his ass other that when he is on the bench, and a sliding tackle against cheltenham

Disappointed that we drew, but away at Oldham is never an easy game
