I am still staggered to see they have a player on something like £20k a week, I don't think our entire 1st team would have been on that last season in a week, I would imagine quite a few others would be in the same boat.

Orient have to be very careful with how they manage things, financial trouble is never far away when you've big outgoings and you can't shift those who are the higher earners, and the conference are notorious for how they treat clubs in financial strife.

We don't anymore, Andrea Dossena isn't staying. Probably because he was unfit and generally shit at defending, if I ever see him I am gonna ask him why he was so shit for us, the money grabbing little prick.

We have Darius Henderson on £10k per week instead :(

I agree with regards to the Conference and the way the top dogs who run Non League are on clubs finances, we could be properly fucked this time next year. The problem is, all the backroom staff are on decent money as well, the ones left anyway...........

With regards to who I want, I'd take either Darren Ferguson or Danny Wilson, we won't get any better than that. They have both won promotion from League Two, Ferguson on a decent budget as well. Yes they have both been sacked recently, but we aren't going to get anyone better now we are in League Two.

There is no way Paul Tisdale is coming here.

We will probably end up with another Italian and he will be appointed probably in September.

If we get Paul Ince, I'd be annoyed. I'd prefer Wilson or Ferguson.

Loved Ince as a player, that night in Rome in October 1997 when he played so well to get us that 0-0 with Italy to qualify for France 98, will live long in my memory.

Absolute wanker as a manager though.

I took a dislike to him when he played the racecard.

Whereas I appreciate the matter in question is far more complex than what would be mentioned on here, playing the race card instead of just admitting you were shit and/or climbed the ladder too quickly did little for me. If he had turned round, acknowledged this and got back to basics I would have had a lot more respect for him.

His cocky, arrogant attitude seems to follow in the genes too.

I think Wilson or Ferguson would be good appointments for Orient, they would both be able to steady the ship. What will the expectations be for next season? Promotion or simply trying to build a base to come back stronger?

Our players have been tweeting in the last few minutes and it looks like ALL of our out of contract players have gone after talks today, this includes:

Scott Cuthbert
Kevin Lisbie
Chris Dagnall
Marvin Bartley
Andrea Dossena
Gianvito Plasmati
Harry Lee
David Mooney
Gary Sawyer
Elliott Omozusi
Shaun Batt
Josh Wright

The only ones I'd have kept were Dagnall, Cuthbert, Bartley and at a push Mooney because he'd be a bit too good for League Two on his day, but he is very very very frustrating, especially when he and others around him are struggling.

A new manager is Expected to be announced early next week, the owners look like they want a complete new start

Ask me again when we name our manager!

Gary Sawyer any good?

He's obviously nowhere near the standard of Matt Lockwood/ Charlie Daniels/ Elliot Omozusi, but he did a job in League One as a back up. Would be a sound player to have in League Two. It was a surprise he got a new contract last season, but I'd have kept him as a League Two squad player this season.

Don't be suprised if some of the players under contract have also gone..............Particularly the high earners who were shit value for money and injury prone last season like Henderson and McAnuff...............

Aye, this had crossed my mind. Bartley was saying 'then there were 12', if we include Grainger and Kashket, then we have 14 players under professional contract for next season...

Teddy Sheringham randomly enters the market at evens...

According to Angelieri the new manager will be deciding on all the out of contract players futures. He also states that Becchetti is not looking to give the club away for free...

Edit: Sky suggests there will be an announcement in the next couple of days. Ian Abrahams from TalkSport suggests that Sheringham has been approached.

Its between Paul Ince and Darren Ferguson. Ince spotted in the area

Ferguson I'd take.

Ince, I don't want. Plus we'd get all the Notts County, MK Dons and Blackpool fans mocking US ALL THE TIME :ffs:

Ferguson's career seemed to take a turn for the worse when his old man jacked in at Man U, no more up and coming stars on loan for next to nothing !

Sol Campbell, Paul Ince and John Barnes as joint managers, anything else would be racist

Genuine question, has any team had two black managers in a row?

Our local rag sent Darren Ferguson an e-mail asking him to comment on the speculation, he replied with something akin to no comment.

Seems Sheringham earlier was a false rumour and he's off to Stevenage, leaving Ferguson the clear favourite....

All that went through my head reading this thread last night was 'Fergie beats his wife, he beats his wife, he beats his wife, he beats his, Fergie beats his wife'

Becchetti and Ferguson have met today, hopefully something will be sorted by the end of the week.

Agreed. Won't his compensation cost an arm and a leg as well?
Very much so. He's got a two year rolling contract so to buy him out of that would be something like £200k+.

Apparently he the highest paid manager in this division. Probably up there with the highest in League 1 too.

Apparently our interim manager of last season Kevin Nugent - who is on the coaching staff but wasn't assistant manager to Liverani - is on £5k a week now :£
