Oxford fans moaning it will be a rough game, Well it is league two... But thinking were a dirty side for getting 7 booked when to be fair 4 got booked for talking to the ref and one who tried to keep out the way of an argument hahaha terrible ref for both sides.

Should be a good game, if we start well and keep up the tempo like we did at county and don't let oxford play we can beat them. Are oxford able to play on a small pitch?

Tough game, We should aim to win our home games and could possibly win this if were at 100%. A draw wouldn't be that bad if oxford really are the best team in the universe. We're being underestimated by everyone and its working in our favour because we can be quite a good side.

Few rough challenges Tuesday to be fair. I put Thomas's down to inexperience and frustration but Hunt I have no idea. I hope Murray is talking to them about discipline.

Hoping for much better than at Accrington in this one.

After witnessing Oxford's display against Notts County I can confirm whilst they're not the best team in the universe, they are the best team in league 2.

4-0 to the mighty Yellows

I've saw J.Thomas' on the highlights and I really can't see what the fuss was about. He maybe followed through a bit, but it was a firm but very fair tackle IMO as he won the ball cleanly. Then Accy's players went off like he'd two footed their player and stuck two fingers up after, JT wanted nothing to do with it but their player was up in an 18 year old lads face so it all just kicked off like they wanted it to.

Watching the highlights the Accrington game didn't seem as bad as I thought it was listening to it and reading about it. I think we will improve at home with Green and JT in the lineup, although a draw wouldn't be the end of the world. Oxford have a very good side and have started well so the momentum is very much with them, should be a good game with both sides looking to win it.

I will go for 1-0 win Matt Green coming back to give nightmares to Oxford.

I have seen Oxford using gamesmanship in the past. To be fair they do it very well. They are fully expecting to get a penalty tomorrow, even discussing who will take it on their forum! It's a shame they use these tactics as, when they do play, they look very good.

To combat any unruly 'gamesmanship' skullduggery shenanigans I will personally see to it that I get right in the lino's shell-like from the off.
Bit of fist-waving here. Slapstick pointing there. Exuberant gestures whilst jumping out of my painfully brittle and faded yellow plastic arse holder.

If my kids and mates don't leave the ground by walking ten man-paces behind me, heads bowed in voluntary shameful dissociation then I'll consider the afternoon to have been a painful victory for Oxford, the officials and the wrongdoings of the human race.

1-1.

Firstly, Doombar is a very poor ale.
Secondly, Oxford are going to piss this tinpot league

Thirdly, pends on your own personal lubrical preference.
Fourthly, I'm not quite sure that Canon League Division Four is quite tinpot enough for Oxford. They strike me as requiring a far more subtle vintage of tinpottery to shine.

Why would you drink Doombar when there's thousands of other delicious ales my friend?

It's a play on the name rather than a salute to the brew pal. It has connotations in other realms.

I'm here undercover.

Though, I am partial to the odd mug.....along with most other options.

Green missed a penalty, he's played fantastic everytime I have seen him but he should have a goal or two this season by now despite missing the Accringtion game.

We should of really had that in the bag and should have been 3 up at half time but as they say if you don't take your chances and you'll get punished.

There was no way Oxford's pen was in the box absolute no chance but Oxford were the better side second half and deserved something.

2 points lost from a Stags POV but I would have took a point before hand.

Superb start with a really impressive tempo in the first 20 minutes or so.

After that Oxford were the better side for large spells but we defended superbly - Kristian Pearce was immense.

Both pens were stonewallers IMO.

Apologises got the fixture wrong haha

But that Oxford team today are disgrace to this league on todays showing..... Had a bloke from forests academy watching today, his son played at half time, and he was appalled by the diving and cheating from oxford, the handball in the second half was shocking.
It ruined the game and is something that needs leaving out of football, its embarrassing. Also seeing a player feign injury only to jump up and make a full recovery within seconds to square up to our players is a joke.

With that aside however Oxford did look a good side football wise but we more than matched them and couldn't be broken down. Free kick that hit the post was very good, oxford will do well this year by being better than most but also cheating when things arent going their way. Didnt help that the young ref had only been in charge of one league game, he was piss poor for both sides.

Were not the best but are head and shoulders above what we were last year. Mitch Rose is a quality find and a player i really like.

Very standard from Oxford, went down faster than a bird from Chesterfield, horrendous team for that, but the mansfield public have always mocked them since they get scared of the wind.

Fair point, Oxford were the most likely side to win it at the end - we defended well in the second half - and did well against a side that easily beat us twice last season - we are certainly an improvement on last term. A shame the ref fell for their constant moaning and play acting - Oxford have got ability in their side - If they put as much time into playing football than fannying around trying to get opposition players booked they'd be a dangerous side

Good battle in midfield - just a shame green missed his penalty. Alright following from Oxford - standard home following.

Steady start, if unspectacular - keep it going

Firstly, can I say that Oxford look a really good quality footballing side and they do look promotion challenging quality. After the first half hour of today's game they were the better side both with and without the ball, although they rarely looked like scoring against our much improved defence.

However, they really aren't going to win many admirers with their infuriating insistence on falling over at any given moment. The referee fell for their antics at every turn, yet it never really achieved them anything and only served to accumulate us a collection of bookings, half of which were harsh.

I understand that it's a tactic to get under the skin of the opposition and probably gain a numerical advantage, but if they just stuck to what they're good at then this Oxford team wouldn't need for the rest of League 2 to focus on them being a tempestuous bunch of girls fannies, sent to boil the blood of shit level football supporters in a way to match last year's prima ballerinas - Wycombe Wanderers.

Good game today , oxfords no 10 and 4 we're stand out of their bunch and had the better chances 2nd half tho the constant going over at every free kick , rolling round was pathetic are we trying to get rid of the 50/50 challange now ? The ref was poor overall for both sides, It was a good test of character the last 15 mins for our lads as they turned the screw but we grinded out a decent point , stand out for us we're Pearce and rose quality players so far ! I think we're still a few weeks of really clicking together but already better than last years bunch

What's wrong with you Mansfield people?

You are a very physical side. I watched your game against Notts County last week, you were physical in that and were physical and niggly today. How many bookings have you had in your last three league games? Twenty odd? So does every team roll around for no reason, as you accuse us of doing?

You've all said that we are a good side, so why would we not want to do what we're best at, playing good football? I think some of you have a persecution complex! Do fans of other teams think we roll around for no reason? No, it only seems to be Mansfield fans that think this.

My view of the game is that you came out of the blocks quicker than us, caught us with a sucker punch from the long throw for your goal and we were lucky to not be two down. Both pens were definite for me. Once we got into the game I thought we played some reasonable stuff, but have played better this season. Thought we were the better team, and you were happy with the draw in the end. You will trouble most teams and have improved from last season, as have we.

Lastly it's a pain in the arse being all ticket and many of our fans were not aware until, late in the week, and the following would have been a few hundred more without the restriction.

Agree with this.

Although there were definitely a couple of the challenges where no contact was made and your lads threw themselves to the floor.

We have been pressing quickly and aggressively so far this season and it has cost us a few bookings.

4 of the 6 bookings today were correct IMO.

Just seen the highlights on Football League Tonight, and it looks like he was fouled a yard or two inside the box, and then he landed outside the box.

Yeah having seen it, it was inside and obviously a clear foul. From my angle it looked like he went down outside of it.

We appreciate we are physical and we need to tone it down, but the fact remains the Oxford players fall down faster than bambi on ice, its quite the shame, made themselves look real daft

I don't buy it that we are over physical. What we are is a side that presses when we haven't got the football. I find it quite depressing that that is considered as dirty.

However, we are more physical than this Oxford United team, who have good attributes throughout but let's face it are a team of grass-kissing pansies.
If Oxford supporters really think that this current Stags team is durtee then I can only suggest taking up watching professional patta-cake, rather than a more physical contact sport.

Your card count over the last three games says otherwise. It's not just against us that you picked up a lot of cards. You are a physical side, get over it. No one is moaning about it, it's you lot, and your Oxford are a team of divers comments, that has bought out these comments. I watched you at Notts and you were physical there, but I thought to myself that it's a local derby of sorts, so it's to be expected. But clearly it's the way you play, nothing wrong with that, but don't whine if you find you have half your team suspended in a few weeks time.

You're the only side that we've played whose fans have made the comments regarding us diving etc, so I think the problem lies with you.

Oh, and was that last post how you really talk/think? The only thing you missed out was the soft southern shandy drinkers dig! Fuck knows what you'd have been like if you'd lost.

Clearly we are a physical side but half of the time your guys liked to play that card of falling to the ground easy which these days the refs give it 9 out of ten times. Typical southerner behaviour to me.
