Imagine what Gary Neville did when Torres scored against Barca and now imagine somebody doing that every time Peru has a speculative 35 yard shot that ends up closer to the corner flag to the goal. That's what the guy on Fox Sports is like.

Good energy from this Peru side. Having said that, Denmark have not turned up yet.

I don’t know what to make of that VAR penalty review process but they arrived at the right decision.

I'm a VAR sceptic and I didn't mind that to be honest. Not sure how often you can wait for a neutral moment to check it though.

Those run-ups never, ever work. When will professional players realise that?

Surely that was illegal as well? He took a step back after starting the run-up.

He was nervous. You could tell from his facial expression, he didn't have it in him to convert that penalty.

I really hope that isn't a bad omen.

It reminded me of a captain going to the control console on the bridge of a spaceship!

How do you feel about your country’s performance so far? If Farfan can carry on playing in Cuevas and co, you’ll create some more opportunities.

We were good in the first half, and we've not really declined. Rather, Denmark have been intelligent and have tried to expose our aerial weakness and that is helping them hugely in this game.

I'm a bit pessimistic to be honest, we need to see Paolo Guerrero.

Peru don’t have much in the final third to be honest and if they do, they’re not using them properly.

Natural when their all-time best goalscorer in on the bench. Hopefully we'll see him soon. Farfan obviously much better in a supporting role.

Disappointing for Peru to concede after making the wrong choice in a promising position.

I’m not quite sure what the goalkeeper was doing there. Got his angles completely wrong. Cool finish though, great ball by Eriksen.

Farfan used to be a winger at Schalke didn’t he? Not sure he works as a centre forward like you say.

His original position is as a 9. That's how he was trained at Alianza Lima.

Peru play some nice stuff. Ultimately, it’s their decision making in the final third that will let them down. It’s the wrong option every single time.

That should have been a corner. Thought it was in.

Yeah, Peru have completely shit the bed in front of goal, they could have won this by a few goals. They've bossed the majority of the game and are very creative in midfield. Denmark will probably go through in second instead of them, the universe doesn't want us to have fun. :(

Carrillo has been superb, doesn't look like the anonymous player he was at Watford.

Just not enough quality from Peru. Think they deserved a draw though as they had chances, but fluffed their lines. Denmark had a strong second half after a poor first and were clinical when the chance came. They look well drilled.

Not sure about that, I thought they were terrible most of the second half. However, near the end of the first and start of the second, they exposed our weakness and won the aerial duel which we just gifted.

I thought they played the out-ball very well to go from defence to attack and take your midfield out of the game, like they did with the goal. They didn’t do this enough in the first. They weren’t outstanding don’t get me wrong, but I thought they showed more in the second.

Good game that, exactly what the WC is all about. Unlucky Peru but well played to the Danes too. Good to see a couple of Peruvian players picking their team mates up at the end, no shame in that result.
