Anyone played the demo?

I was actually quite surprised by it once I got over the different controls to FIFA. Don't think I will stray from FIFA but there is a serious contender now

FIFA has been rubbish in recent years. I've not bought PES since its glory days, but I am seriously considering switching over.

I tried the switch last year and despite being PES #1 fan during the glory years i struggled to make the transition back to it.

I considered pes 15 as I stopped at Fifa 14, I didn't even play it for free as part of my EA Access pass. I may get onboard with this, but I am trying to pack in sports games, as I feel that they draw me in to using an unhealthy amount of my gaming time on them.

Played a few matches on the demo last night. It was decent but I find that there are too many gaps between midfield and defence. I still pine for the glory days of PES4, 5 & 6. Better than anything FIFA has ever produced.

Before 2010, I was always a PES man. Gradually declined after PES 3 (Collina on the front cover). Tried the demo the other day, won 5-0 and scored with practically every shot from all sorts of positions in the box. Just to easy to score on there.
Fifa 15 was shit too, so I’m hopeful they’ll learn from that and pull a worldie out for September.

PES should have stuck to the old formula where it felt more like a game rather than going for realism. Just downloading this now.

Presumably you were playing on the highest difficulty?

So the first goal I scored was a volley off a volleyed lofted through ball. That's what's great about these games, you're given so much creative freedom. The play is zippy. Going to get both games I think.

If I'm being honest, I didn't check this time as I read a review online somewhere which said the demo was already pre-set to hard/world class, or whatever the correct terminolgy is.

That being said, I owned PES 2015 and played that on World Class and found that incredibly easy to score. Every game online was like basketball from one end to the other. Fifa was harder than that, which you would expect, though it had too many bugs in it for me.

This new demo hasn't impressed me at all - too similar to the last one IMO, so I'll be trying out Fifa when that comes out as the review's make for good reading.

My issue with Fifa is that Speed is too much of a killer feature for online players. Until they sort that out I can't see myself ever enjoying it the way I did a game like sensible soccer or pro evo.

As it's the hols and we are both off me and my mate were playing through loads of old footy games, Virtua striker's goal ranking system is brilliant and surprised the big two haven't copied that or tried to add it in in some way. Super Soccer on the SNES also seemed very solid although the games were score fests when we played!

You were playing on Regular which is the third hardest out of six difficulties. Just letting you know.

Fair enough. That doesn't take away from how shit the game seems to be, as it feels like a replica of last year's and that was piss easy on a much harder AI level.

And it's EAs never ending quest for realism that is ruining what was once a great game. Imo fifa 15 is shit. I'm not even going to bother citing all the things wrong with fifa nowadays. As I'm still a 360 peasant and there will be no pro clubs again on fifa this year I'm going to try the pes demo and if the gameplay is more fun than fifa I'll buy it. Fun being the operative word too because ea are so obsessed with simulation that they've forgotten about fun.

Virtually all reviews are claiming this to be the best ever football game. Worst review I've seen is 8.5/10 I believe. So gonna fuck EA off and go with PES.

Goddamit! Was so set on FIFA now after playing both demos. Think I will wait to see what the review for that is before I buy either

Remarkable the reviews PES16 is getting, considering how wrong Konami have got it in recent years. I've read a few reviews now which basically say this has the potential of being the best football game ever. I enjoyed the demo, but I'll wait for further reviews before deciding which one to get.

The demo doesn't do ALL justice to the game. One thing about the demo is the goalkeepers are wank. They aren't phenomenal by any means in game, but they are better than in the demo.

Demos always let you score loads because they're programmed to get you excited to buy the game.

I was going to pick this up in a few weeks a bit cheaper but you've driven me to get this, Libertadores. You better not just be hyping it due to the South American teams!

Haha. I'll be honest to say I've only used the South American teams so far, but I'm actually being serious in that this is great, and the reviews are phenomenal to back that point up.

I would play the demo first though yeah. Some people were mixed on the demo, and the actual game is much better but I'm just making recommendations here.

And to back that up, I'm not entirely sure about MyClub yet. Still need to learn about it, but it doesn't seem that its better than UT but still sounds like fun. Will give my review on that possibly on the weekend when I have more time to play it. My brother told me that player career is a lot better on here though.

I played the demo and enjoyed it, it felt more like a game than taking itself too seriously. As I said, I was going to get it anyway but reading this thread and the reviews forced me into it.

Just downloaded now!
