Less games, more goals and less penalties. First season in a new league.

It should be tight, but we all know Hazard will win it. The media love him.

So much more to it than that though...and you know it. At what point do Arsenal fans realise there's more to life than statistics and spreadsheets?

Charlie Austin has scored more than both Sanchez and Hazard....oh

Charlie Austin is a striker whereas Sanchez and Hazard play the same position...

Sanchez has like 2 months where he did nothing at the start of '15. Hazard went on and excelled in that period, that's the difference. He's clearly the better player regardless

Don't know how Ivanovic is in there or Cahill but hey Ho. Coutinho above Fabregas still a strange one but they need a Liverpool player in there somewhere.

Terry and Cahill over Fonte?

Ok then.

What a joke. Could have had Fabregas, Schneiderlin, Cazorla or Silva in there ahead of Coutinho. I guess that's what a few long range goals gets you.

Cahill should also be nowhere near this team but I think even Terry would tell you that. Ivanovic too but there's not exactly been many quality RB's this season with Zabaleta well below par. Perhaps Clyne should have got the nod instead.

Aguero is perhaps a little unlucky to miss out too.

You think Fonte has been as good as Terry?

I think both have been pretty good this year, but I've obviously seen much more of Fonte than Terry. He should certainly be in there ahead of Cahill anyway.

I agree with that.

Cahill has been at fault for most of our goals.

But Sanchez was performing 10x better than Hazard (and everybody else for that matter) in the first several months of the season. Hazard actually received quite a bit of criticism in that period. Like I said before, he was still fairly amazing in that 2 months of 'doing nothing' and anybody who watched him would tell you that.

Sanchez is the more complete player. He'll score you more goals, he'll get you more assists and he'll work harder for you team.

It's just because Hazard's best performances are in more recent memory. I too remember in the first half of the season people were generally giving the edge to Sanchez over Hazard (on this very forum, or at least TFF), now it's the other way around. I think also Chelsea are a lot more dependent on Hazard for their creativity than we are on Sanchez now, especially with Cesc in poor form, and so a lot more of their play is going through him. Again, at the start of the season this was the other way around with us being dependent on Sanchez with Özil/Giroud out.

I think it's harsh to criticise Sanchez for 2 poorer months (which weren't bad by any stretch, especially given that his all around contribution to the team is phenomenal) when Hazard has shown in his time in the league to be as streaky as they come. It was after Christmas too, when a lot of imports struggle due to having no winter break, although that being said I've never seen a player adapt so well to the premier league so quickly as Sanchez did.

I'd take both. It's interesting though, Sanchez is essentially the player Mourinho wanted Hazard to be last season. Having watched them both a fair bit this year, they are more different than I thought. Sanchez is a bit more risky which I think gets him more goals/assists but also means he gives away the ball a bit more (especially at the start of the season). In a way, Hazard is more suited to Arsenal and Sanchez to Chelsea, especially with Sanchez's work rate. That said I wouldn't swap him, I think both players have brought a bit more balance to their teams, we definitely needed harder working wingers.

As others have said, Cahill, Ivanovic and Coutinho should be nowhere near team of the season. Fonte & Alderweireld are much more deserving than Cahill, Clyne has been the best right back in the league this season, and there have been many better players than Coutinho this season in midfield. Fabregas would have got my vote, with Eriksen next in line

It's intriguing to me that Arsenal fans, much more so than anyone else, seem desperate to try to play-down every single bit of praise Eden Hazard gets. You seem to care very much about it.

It could be worth studying. I don't care enough to. I'll just say it's envy.

Honestly I don't think a lot of Arsenal fans feel like Sanchez is getting the credit he deserves after the season he has had. I think Hazard will win it but it is by no means a clear cut thing which some people have suggested.

No Clyne? LOL

These things are always bullshit, Murray got into the best football league XI of the decade on one good season, says it all.

Clyne hasn't been great since the turn of the year. Barely gets forward now. :(

Cahill, Ivanoic and Coutinho arguably shouldn't be in there - but apart from that, pretty much spot on.
