Hooked up my PS3 so I can finish off Ni No Kuni before I sell it. Just a question, as I have a couple of downloaded PS1 games stored on my hard drive, can these be downloaded to my PS4? Or have I basically lost them?

No ps1 support on PS4. Not sure on the transferring to/from a hard drive but PS1 games work on a PS3, Vita and PS TV.

PS+ July line-up:

PS4: Until Dawn, Game of Thrones, That's You
PS3: Tokyo Jungle, Darkstalkers Resurrection

Best PS+ for awhile imo. If you still have a PS3 set up it's definitely worth checking out Tokyo Jungle

Yeah, I have to see that this is about the best I've ever seen! Really fancied trying out Until Dawn but never got around to it, and I intend to get back on the Telltale games one day so GoT is something I badly want to play.

Also, I actually bought Tokyo Jungle back when it came out... weird as fuck, but actually a decent game!

Finished HZD today. Loved every minute of it.

Toss up between that and RE7 for my GOTY (so far)

Don't bother buying the new Crash Collection unless you havent played the originals, and even then if you have a PS3 the originals are all available for about three or four quid from the ps store.

The Crash jump feels inconsistent and too short. Taking some getting used to, regret buying it to be honest.

Been playing the Lawbreakers beta - Decent, needs alot more maps. Gameplay is sound, bit rough but it is a beta after all.

Vicarious Visions have definitely tampered with the jumping mechanisms, there's also no margin for error like there was on the original when it comes to certain levels (Road to Nowhere and High Road, ugh).

I'm going for the platinum, collecting all gems earlier this evening was satisfying but I'm going to wind up spending hours getting these gold relics.

Ni No Kuni 2 delayed until 19th of January.

As annoying as it is I'm ok with it as I have way too many games out at the end of the year.

Yeah, I always think that as well... but then you know that by the time January 19th rolls around, you'll still be catching up on the shit you missed out on from the end of this year.

Think I'm finally going to get a PS4. Is the pro version worth it? I have an old HDTV and I'm not sure I'll get the full benefits of the increased graphics.

I was going for the PS4 Pro, but couldn't justify the extra expense so just went for a slim in the end and don't regret it. Unless you're planning on buying a Playstation VR, I wouldn't bother, and even then it's not really needed. Even the gaming in 4K isn't that different. I had Horizon Zero Dawn thrown in with my slim bundle and it's a great game, with fantastic visuals. My mate has a pro and plays it through his 4K TV, the difference is noticeable, but not massively so and certainly not enough to effect the gameplay. Also, it might just be his unit, but I've done a direct comparison with mine and his makes a hell of a racket in comparison with exactly the same games, I suspect due to the unusual way it renders graphics. I read that, if you're playing games on a 1080p TV (either standard non-pro optimised games or pro optimised) it upscales the game to 4k then downscales it back to 1080p which might explain the GPU working the fans on overtime. Regardless, the end result is that it's far louder than the slim or even the original fat PS4.

The fragmentation of console generations annoys me. The advantage of a console over a PC was that developers had a fixed spec to work to, which allowed for some amazing achievements you wouldn't think possible with the hardware in question, especially towards the end of a console's life (look at some of the last games released on the 360 and the PS3 for example). Updates mid-generation made the consoles smaller, but the spec and speed remained the same. Now, with the PS4 Pro and the newly announced Xbox One X, that has gone right down the shitter.

I have a PS4 Pro and it definitely isn't worth it - even with a 4K TV, you can tell the difference but...thats about it. I don't regret it as my old PS4 packed in and I had a 4k TV so it seemed silly not to with the bigger hard drive as well.

Unless you're one of those film studies nerds who can't handle looking at anything on a screen below a certain quality then it's all a bit wasted.

Nah, unless someone is really into collecting pysical media, blue-ray video is dead. Amazon, Sky Q and Netflix Ultra HD streaming are just three of the many online 4K services which will become more and more prevalent in the coming months/years.

But the marketing around the Pro is 4K this, 4K that.

It's still nice to have the option at least, quit damage controlling Sony.

Be interested to hear from someone who knows what they're talking about. The current generation seemed a bit iterative and underwhelming, without a great 'leap forward'. I wasn't sure if this was because I was older, or because there was less to be hyped up. Is that why they've had to start updating mid-cycle? Could they have done anything better?

PS+ for August:

Just Cause (PS4)
Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry (PS4)
Super Motherload (PS3)
Snake Ball (PS3)
Downwell (PS Vita)
Level 22 (PS Vita)

Played Just Cause 2 on the PS3 back then. So this is interesting for me as well as the Assassins Creed DLC of Black Flag (playable without the original game)

So my Ps4 hard drive is getting rather full. It's the 500gb one. Can someone recommend me a replacement drive 1 - 2 TB drive which fits or even higher than 2?
thanks in advance

Yeah, I just got an email from PS+ Support. For Germany the price will increase from 49,99€ to 59,99€. That's 20%. But when we now get good games (like Until Dawn or Just Cause 3) then it is worth it.
Thank God I bought at the recent discounts (for 34,99€) a 1year and then even a 15 months extension (at amazon's prime day), so I'll have more than 2 years left.

I use a Western Digital WD Elements 2 TB for enhancing my PS4 space. Since Firmware 4.50 you can use an external hard drive on the usb port (so a USB 3.0 hard drive is recommended) and don't need to replace the internal hard drive.

I didn't know it either. When my hard drive space (1TB) was getting full I wanted to exchange it with a bigger one. Then I thought that Sony "maybe is now a bit more advanced since PS3 days" and googled for External Hard Drive and PS4 and found it that it's implemented weeks ago.

So now I have an internal 1 TB and an external 2 TB Hard Drive. Should be sufficient for a few weeks

Well I'm not paying for PS Plus anymore. £50 a year is obscene.
