He did say he was ringing Jones on the way home (Head of refs) but he was seething on P&G.

Something about showing the referee a laptop?

He could be in hot water as he was pretty brutal in his interview about the referee, probably needed to maybe wait until he had calmed down a bit before being interviewed or sending his assistant out would have been better.

One of our players tweeted about Mr Kettle and that wasn't advised either!

This is the referee mind who gave Exeter one of the most ridiculous penalties against us last season after 1 minute.
He has a point that one did indeed look like a penalty. The other was not, and I said at the time that the Crewe played should have been cautioned for stimulation. It sounds like in hindsight that Tom Nield recognised he indeed should have cautioned the dive. Artell probably needs to sleep on this things and do his complaining in private to the appropriate authorities.

I do feel that the standard of officiating is not great, and have offered my explanation of why in another thread.

Isn’t that video after the match, as I can hear the big man going on about the ref “missing 2 stonewallers”, I maybe wrong. Not sure I am comfortable with Plymouth releasing a video of our managers coversation with the ref, a bit out of order really.
Why is it out of order? We do tunnel cam every home game, it is clearly part of Argyle’s attempts to enhance the fans experience. Are you saying that your media team did not tell Artell there would be a camera in the tunnel, before, half time and at the end? Or if they did that he ignored this information.

The particular instance lasted say fifteen to twenty seconds out of over six minutes. At other points this video and the longer match moments video shows Artell in a good light, should we not now show them too?

I for one am glad that the club show this video each time, it gives a fan an unusual and interesting insight. In this instance it had the added benefit of providing evidence Of what a manager actually said. This is not to say Artell does not have a right (with one not the other appeals) to complain, and make a point at half time. Though we all know that this (and I am in now way singling our Artell) was a deliberate attempt to influence the officials. My objection is more that what he appears to be publicly saying the ref said in that conversation is not totally accurate.

No time for bullshit or Billy Big Bollocks attitudes. Every club has its fair share of both, but to my mind most fans are just that - fans. I have a distaste of a few clubs - it’s hard not to - but for geographic reasons we’d all support the clubs where we born or at least have some connection with.

It’s what makes supporting the smaller clubs more honest or pure - if that’s the right description - than the plastic followers of those clubs it’s easy to attach yourself to.

Viva us bottom feeders!
You are absolutely right about the purity. I grew up being taken by my dad and them later hopping on the bus to the Boleyn Ground. However, having lived a number of years down here, Argyle are my team and why I took my lads to watch from a young age. They both have a big premier league side they follow as a number 2, butArgyle are their team and they go each week. I get a lot more out of watching Argo than I think I would the irons.

Our media team probably don't know what day of the week is. They are terrible all things considered. A website that is horribly out of date, they don't even cover reserve and U18 matches properly, they have to pay a graphics department to make their matchday graphics for them. Did they tell Artell a camera would be in the tunnel? No way they were that aware of Plymouth's matchday media coverage.

I don't mind Artell going on a little crusade over this, it's his money that will leave his pocket if he gets fined. A touchline ban or two? Meh, he spends the first half of games in the stands anyway. He knows what he's doing and knows what kind of punishment could be heading his way by going after Nield.

He's said his piece, time for everyone to move on. We lost, but hey, we're still in third and control our own destiny. Got 3 winnable games in our next 4. Get 9 points from them and we'll have breathing distance once again I'm sure. Make this game and what happened in it ull and void. Best way to get justice.

Both blatant penos btw. Not sure for which one of the two the Plymouth fan claims our player dived? Both players were taken out, on both occasions. The 1st one (Jones) was not too dissimilar to the Leipzig peno at Spurs. The next one (Walker) was even more blatant.

Neither of the decisions were as bad as Porter's miss, however. He should have been made to walk home.
