With us to still play Plymouth, Crewe, Port Vale, Cheltenham and Northampton we will have a hand in this one way or another.

Beating Colchester and Bradford in the last few weeks I'm looking forward to these games more than I was five weeks ago. How are Plymouth playing at the moment?

Sky confirm they’re ‘considering’ the argyle vs Exeter fixture in March.

My mate who works in sports media reckons the Monday night...

Tasty
According to the fixtures on the BBC website, it has been moved to the 23rd.

Tighter than a gnats arsehole in that top 4. We have Macc, Morecambe and Stevenage in 3 of our next 4. Absolutely have to win at least 2, probably even 3 of them.

I wonder what will be needed to finish in the top 3? 85? 90?

I would hazard a guess based on the current points totals about 87 would do it. Fascinating race and other than I think Swindon will get over the line can’t call the other two spots.

On a similar note am thinking say 74 points for the playoff chasing teams maybe? With their games in hand would say Cheltenham are most likely but the others you can make arguments for and against all of them. Good news for us is for the first time this season we will have a nearly full strength squad to choose from for Walsall so Askey at least has some options if he chooses to use them.

Crewe have been getting those last gasp draw and wins recently even when not playing well which is usually a sign of a side going up, although a Vale v Crewe play off would be spicy.

So many twists and turns, you'd say Plymouth would be shoe in a couple of weeks ago with their form then put in a shocker against Colchester and only scrape a draw last night for example.

The joker in the pack could be Cheltenham though with their game's in hand.

We simply have to win Vs Macc, Morecambe and Stevenage in the next few weeks. As after that we don't have many "easy" games left. Then obviously the Exeter game in the middle of them is a massive game.

Last Saturday was the fourth time this season we have been 2-0 up and thrown it away, (Crawley, Morecambe, Oldham and Walsall) only getting three points from the 'nailed-on' 12 we thought we were getting at the time...:ffs: What might have been eh?? :dk:

Bradford and Northampton have three real toughies up next which could be pivotal for those 2. Cobblers hosting Exeter then having to go to Cheltenham and Grimsby is tough on the back of a poor run of results. Lose those three and you'd think they will have a mountain to climb.

Bradford with poor away form heading to Newport on their cabbage patch hosting Argyle and then going to a very much improved Salford is a tough challenge and with poor form in general for a while now, if they lose them three they'd probably almost be out of it.

Colchester have 2 tough ones next at Salford and hosting Cheltenham then a long slog to Carlisle.

Port Vale go to easier fixtures than of late on paper in Walsall away and hosting Scunthorpe however both beat the Vale in the reverse fixture and our record against the bottom half is patchy before travelling to Cheltenham where it is a tough but Vale recorded a memorable Cup win 3-1 in the FA Cup.

Cheltenham host three of their play off rivals in their next four so could be make or break, if they come out of them with a good set of results thats them almost home you'd think and maybe sniffing around the top 4 if any of them drop off.

Anyone outside the top 9 likely do we think to gate crash? Salford if they beat Colchester and Bradford with their new squad maybe?

Not great, yet we are 4th. Which says it all. Indeed, I don’t think we have actually played that well all season. The odd half here and there where we are pretty unplayable, but not consistently. The odd game, as per against yourselves and Exeter, where we are out thought and out fought. That said we are scoring. Before Xmas we dominated a lot but could not take enough chances. Now we have strikers who are beginning to score for fun. The issue with us is that 19 people have scored, it can make it difficult to defend against as a result. I believe in us, but I still don’t think we have got out of third gear very often. We have the potential to destroy teams, but rather we are grinding out results.

We have a meet the players day tomorrow. When we had one before the season it galvanised fans, so it might help bump the crowd up a bit, plus that the armed forces will be there.

At present, I'm only interested in cementing a playoff place - beating Vale, Northampton and Exeter at home may well change that though.

To be fair when we have scored the last minutes winners we were playing well, when we beat Oldham you will not find many Latics fans who begrudge us the 3 points despite a 97th minute winner, also when we beat Crawley with a 90th minute winner, their keeper was outstanding and we played pretty good and deserved the 3 points, even the last kick of the match equalizer against Macc, we were poor first half but 2nd half it was 1 way traffic even without creating loads of clear cut chances, we deserved the point at the end of that one.

We have played well in most matches since deservedly getting beat at Salford on Boxing Day, we have had few matches where we have played much better in one half than the other, but we have always done more than enough to justify the points, even the defeat to Swindon we played well until having no fit defenders left on the pitch, and last Saturday at Argyle was just rotten luck, I think we are in quite good shape for the run in, and we always seem to finish a season really strongly.

Expecting trouble?
It is Argyle’s Armed Services Day. There are usually marching bands, marines absailing off the stadia, and money being raised for Help the Heroes and the like. Argyle usually give those related to the armed services free seats, which ups the numbers up a bit.

If Pennywise turns up, they will know what to do.

We might just get a little say in who goes up as I’ve just checked our fixtures and we still have 5 of the top 7 to play all away and with how we’re playing at the minute id fancy us to get something at a couple of those at least. Promotion contenders — FEAR US!!!! :bg:

If youre into that kind of thing I'm sure there will be some Navy boys there who will fill you in. Plymouth is well known for its dockyard sex trade and general air of desperation.

Never forget that everything changes and when he comes back on after this you’d better pray he’s not back for good, else he’ll be relighting all your fires no matter how deep your love is.
