Biggest memory I have of Rovers is them beating us in the FA Cup 4th round in 2008. Puncheon missed a 2nd minute penalty (that wasn't actually a pen), then we should've had another one that wasn't given, then Rickie Lambert scored a header to win it. Next round they were on BBC!

They're a decent club with their fair share of ignorant fans, which every fan base has. However I think the majority knuckled down to the realities of non-league football relatively quickly (barring some away day scenes) so for that I wish them all the best, whether that be for a successful playoff campaign or to readjust for a challenge again next season.

I remember that day well. Few Spurs out that day hoping to cause trouble

Bloody PF playing Cliff Akurang on his own up front and Puncheon in central midfield!

My congrats are only to certain barnet fans. The rivalry is now over and id like to say well done. However, there are plenty of barnet fans on facebook saying ' fuck off Bristol rovers ' ect ect to those lot you can go fuck yourself but to the respectable barnet fans very well done. You deserved it and it was very exciting. We hope to see you next season! All the best

Swings and roundabouts, a fair few Rovers fans have been doing the same on various social media platforms.

But yeah, can be put to bed now surely.

Some Bristol rovers fans are far from innocent in all this with their one man and his dog jibes at our crowds and some pretty bad grace on twitter to our winning the title.
I'm sure 99% of both fan bases have no ill will towards each other while the others have let tribal instincts get the better of them. The game at the mem two years ago was a fantastic occasion and this season has been good natured banter and a decent title race for the most part.
I wish Bristol Rovers all the best, despite not winning there recently I still enjoy the visit.

Not sure why you are bothered. You've won the league, who cares?

The Hive is a game changer for us.

We've looked to keep within our means, which meant that our budget was that of a Conference club whilst in League Two. With the increased revenue from the new ground, coupled with the extra financing from being back in the league, I'd fancy us to be challenging at the right end.

We're also close to reaping the benefits for investing in our youth team. Vilhete, Johnson and Gambin already through and some very talented youngsters that won their league this year.

I wish I could be so confident, all I ask is that we don't try to short change the budget this time. The team that started in the season we got relegated was built of kids and crocks.

No doubt that we got things wrong with how we spent our budget whilst in the league before, and clubs like Dagenham have shown that you can perform with a lot less.

I think there is a little bit of spin going on when I hear how well we've done to compete with the bigger clubs as the likes of Akinde, Cook, MacDonald and Togwell won't have come all that cheaply. We should have a budget that puts us around mid table, which is where the need to bring on some of our own youth to make up the gap comes in.

It was interesting to hear Paul Fairclough talking after the game saying that the chairman knows he made mistakes last time and won't let it happen again. Not strengthening last time was a big mistake, and that can't be repeated.
