Full release list. It's brutal although thankfully we've retained a few key players:

The following players contracts have now expired:

Rihards Matrevics, Elliott Johnson, Ricardo Santos, David Tutonda, Martyn Box , Loic Hernandez, Charlee Adams, Simeon Akinola, Mauro Vilhete, Medy Elito, Roy Syla, Shaquile Coulthirst.

In Mauro Vilhete and Elliott Johnson, we have two long-standing players departing after a combined total of 19 years of incredible service to the Club. Both leave us with legendary status and will always be well-respected members of the Barnet FC family.

We can confirm the following players remain under contract ahead of the new season:

Scott Loach, James Dunne, Alfie Pavey, Harry Taylor, Wes Fonguck, Aymen Azaze, Josh Walker, Ephron Mason-Clark, Xander McBurnie, Antonis Vasiliou and Jack Tompkins.

As always at this time of the season, rumours will circulate online about what has and has not been offered by the Club. We will always do our best to keep you posted with developments in regard to contracts and advise fans to take some of the silly online rumours with a pinch of salt!

Management Team:

As you will be aware from previous statements, Head Coach Darren Currie and First Team Coach Junior Lewis have contracts that expire in September 2020. Discussions regarding budgets, recruitment and plans for their position are ongoing. We hope to be able to bring more clarity on the situation very soon.

I mean look. Some of those players can be expected - Coulthirst and Santos have done their years here with big injury issues and are too food for the league when fit. They were never going to accept even similar terms.

Akinola has always had league interest and I suspect he will be off for the league love he deserves.

Johnson, Adams and Elito are all NL standard and are the not the players needed for a sustained, serious promotion push (although they have uses as squad players and I am sad to see Johnson leave).

Tutonda is great and we should have been doing plenty to keep him. This is bad news.

Mauro is one of my favourite Barnet players and a perfect NL player given his versatility. Club legend who we would have mugged off with our contract offer.

In normal circumstances I would be disappointed and sad with 4 of these, which isn’t awful. However given our financial situation (and the general perilous situation the club is in regarding fan base and discord towards the chairman), it’s awful.

This implies an awful offer for DC and the management team, meaning we will lose a hugely promising, passionate manager, with no funds to supply both his successor and team we would require.

In short, we needed a clear out but it’s the hidden messages behind all of this which makes it another step towards the death or severe decline of Barnet.

TK out.

With a 50 million pound redevelopment plan over the next 5 years, you can see where the priority lies. I am afraid the football side of things is a long way down the list. Hotel + Swimming Pool + Sports Hall = making money. Football side = loosing money.

TK needs the hotel so he can get all the northern sides and international teams in to use the main pitch when Barnet go Buzz

We’re announcing our release list tomorrow along with new signings who are a mixture of established players and new upcoming talent.

Perhaps DC wanted a blank canvas and full budget to sign his own players? Who knows.

Let’s not forget, we were 11th when the season was curtailed and it was only the signing of McCallum that had seen us start to look promising. The bloated squad was hardly championship winning material.

So whilst it’s sad to see the likes of Johnson and Vilhete move on, we don’t know all the details. The only signing that matters right now is the manager - we should be getting DC tied downas quickly as possible.

DC definitely didn't want all those players released.

EJ, Mauro and Tutonda all going is a massive smoking gun. There is no way those three would go unless made pitiful offers.

On those grounds we will have real trouble retaining DC.

Expected more from him if I’m honest, Ok with a decent player along side him but generally pretty dogshit. I lost count of the number of 10 yard sideways passes he hit straight to the oppo.

Cameron King just announced he’s leaving us. Suspect he will end up at Kings Lynn. Used to play there, from that area and they seem to be throwing money about.

Goalkeepers Mark Cousins and Ryan Huddart, defenders Joe Kizzi, Jack Holland and Chris Bush; midfielders Luke Coulson, Frankie Raymond and Billy Bingham and strikers Michael Cheek, Adrian Clifton and Ben Williamson will be staying at Hayes Lane next season.

However, left-back Sam Wood, centre-halves Dave Winfield and Jake Goodman, central midfielders Jordan Higgs and Josh Rees, wingers Adam Mekki and Andre Coker have been released at the end of their contracts, while loanee Corey Whitely has returned to parent club Newport County.

Goodman and Mekki have already signed for relegated Vanarama National League South side Ebbsfleet United, while Rees has signed for league rivals Aldershot Town

We (Notts) have just announced ours. We have more players under contract than I thought. Also very disappointed to see Tom Crawford leaving, 21 year-old who we signed on a fee from Chester two years back and was starting to show what he was all about just before lockdown, scored our first in the season’s standout win at Barrow. Could be a very good pick up for someone in this league, or even the league above IMO.

Under contract
Tiernan Brooks
Enzio Boldewijn
Damien McCrory
Jim O’Brien
Connell Rawlinson
Callum Roberts
Sam Slocombe
Wes Thomas
Ben Turner
Kyle Wootton

Out of contract, offered new deal
Richard Brindley
Kristian Dennis
Michael Doyle
Dion Kelly-Evans
Alex Lacey
Joe McDonnell
Sam Osborne
Out of contract, released
Zoumana Bakayogo
Regan Booty
Tom Crawford
Mitch Rose

Loan players returning to clubs

Real shame about Booty too, wonder whether his injury is possibly even career threatening.

Yes. Shame as you say, talented bloke when fit, which sadly isn’t very often.

Would accept Fylde’s Tom Walker as a replacement for Booty/Crawford

Rose looked like a good cb for this level against us - will he be moving up do you reckon?

Wonder what the terms offered to your players eg. Brindley will be. Parachute payment reductions are a right pain + Covid impact also. Wonder if some of those will be looking to move up the leagues.

Boldewijn, Thomas and Wooton are a strong attacking group for next season (presuming Roberts will be off)

Rose plays CM (or RB at a push). Rumour is he’s off to Scotland.

Rose is a central midfielder, does a job at right back at best. He’s a solid player, probably off to St Mirren by the sounds of it, but a decent earner where he doesn’t really have the impact on games to justify it. Think it’s one area where we’ll be looking to upgrade.

Dunno on Brindley, had a solid season but I doubt we’ve pushed the boat out there as Kelly-Evans is younger, cheaper and has looked to be of a similar level. Would’ve been a brave decision to release Brindley and go all in on DKE, but I wouldn’t have argued.

Our team is set really, to be honest, apart from central midfield. That’s what cost us at Wembley and in most of the games we lost, to be honest. It will be interesting to see if the owners‘ input starts to have an influence on recruitment - Roberts certainly hasn’t been a bad start on that front.

We've just announced Michael Duckworth, Tobi-Sho-Silva and Charlie Cooper have decided to turn down new deals.

Gutted about Duckworth. Not bothered in the slightest about the other two

Sorry to see Crawford go and Booty must have some serious injury problems, when fit he's a decent midfielder.
Ardley's great strength so far has been his recruitment so hopefully he'll keep his Midas touch and get us some lively midfielders.

Barnet fans going into meltdown because we’re not spending a silly amount (silly in a non-league post-Covid world) for Paul McCallum is the exact example of why some members of our fan base are laughable.

Would certainly take McCallum at Meadow Lane. How much are Solihull asking?

Daggers in desperate need of a decent striker, would not surprise me one bit to see McCullum end up here. Until we sign a decent striker to compliment Balanta we won’t trouble top half.

We loaned him with a clause that we could buy him but this value wasn’t disclosed. He’s supposedly unsettled at Solihull but they will not be financially pressured to sell so will hold all the cards.

I expect he may return back to London. D&R would then be an option but I (with no disrespect intended) doubt they have the pulling power to sign him. But what a sign of intent from their new owners it would be as he’s the best striker in this division bar none.
