The two Championship heavyweights met at the Cardiff City Stadium on an overcast day in South Wales.Pilkington started for the Bluebirds against his former club but it was too early for a Noone comeback to Championship football. For Norwich, tricky winger Nathan Redmond started out wide with striker Lewis Grabban up front for the Canaries.
Team Lineups:
Cardiff City:Marshall,Fabio,Brayford,Morrison,Connolly,Pilkington,Whittingham,Gunnarsson,Ralls,Jones,Macheda.

Norwich City:Ruddy,Olsson,Turner,Hooiveld,Martin,Tettey,Johnson,Lafferty,Hoolahan,Redmond,Grabban.

The game kicked off and Cardiff looked right up for it as Jones tested Ruddy early on with a low drive and a Peter Whittingham corner was cleared of the line by Olsson was only a sign of things to come. Then a darting run from Ralls halfway inside the Norwich half took him to the edge of the Norwich penalty box without any pressure on him and he released an unstoppable shot which nestled past Ruddy in the Norwich goal and Cardiff lead 1-0 after 4 minutes.Cardiff continued to dominate the game as Norwich really didn't have a sight of goal in the first 20 minutes of the game. Then Pilkington on the far right hand side crossed the ball and there was Gunnarsson on 22 minutes to flick the ball past the Norwich goalkeeper and in off the post to give Cardiff a well deserved 2-0 lead in the opening quarter of the game. The game then settled down with Cardiff just happy to keep possession and pass the ball around and go in at half time at 2-0 up,would they regret that?
Then into the last 5 minutes of the second half,Norwich began to grow into the game more with a few shots coming in from the East English side. Then the last action of the first half fell to Cardiff where Macheda could've wrapped up all 3 points for Cardiff as the ball dropped to his feet,8 yards out and smashed it straight at Ruddy who saved well and kept Norwich in the game and the scoreline at 2-0.Cardiff's best half of the season was soon to be followed up by there worst....
Neil Adams must have rallied the troops at half time and whatever he said in the away dressing room, really got the Canaries flying. He brought on Cameron Jerome at halftime and he would get his chance to play against his former club.Norwich dominated the early stages of the second half and Ole must have told the Cardiff players to sit back and defend this 2-0 lead for 45 minutes!Seems bizarre doesn't it?But it certainly looked that way as Norwich just pushed the Cardiff backline further back by the minute. Then,in the 54th minute,a little chipped ball to Grabban in the penalty box,set him up to turn and as he did he couldn't get his shot away and the ball rolled to the left of him and there was Olsson who smashed the ball into the back of the Cardiff net,2-1,game on!Straight from the kick off,Cardiff lost possession and Norwich came again.Norwich were mounting the pressure on Cardiff and Cardiff still, tried to defend this lead. They were camped in the last third of there half. Then 4 minutes later,Hoolahan smashed home an equaliser to send the Norwich faithful into raptures.Norwich weren't done yet.Cardiff hadn't learnt there lesson and with Norwich's trickyy players and quality, they were always going to grab the winner. They were looking the most likely. On 71 minutes, defender Michael Turner turned the ball home as the comeback was complete.Cardiff had fallen apart and Norwich to full advantage.Only now would Cardiff look to press forward and get an equaliser but as they di Cameron Jerome pounced on a mis-understanding between Morrison and Marshall as he rounded the Scottish keeper and tapped home to give Norwich 3 points, which in the first half looked like it was never going to happen.
Solskjaer's position at Cardiff remains questionable as his team continue their poor start to the season.
