Very much looking forward to it as well (provided I've got the time off work), one of my favourite away trips. Make sure you visit that chippy outside the away end.

Bloody hell, you're keen!

You don't have Stephen Dawson to boo this year.
But you do have McNulty, TK, and of course, big Keef.

I'm expecting a good footballing match, but for some reason I think we'll lose. I think it's the pathetic display on the final day at your place that sways it.

Is McNulty there as well? Jesus wept. We've already had the chance to shout and boo at Dawson and Wiseman at Scunny in the league cup.

Tbf you only got battered because you had a man sent off and in typical KH fashion decided to concede 3 from corners, thought you looked a good side at Spotland last year but came up against one of our better performances of the season.
I'm concerned that our tap it about and hope Hourihane can put a free-kick/corner onto someone's head tactics will continue and whilst it's got us 7 points so far, it won't work forever. Hopefully it'll get us another 3 points Saturday, either that or we try to do something different for a change.

Because he's ex Rochdale, anyone ex Rochdale who joins Barnsley seems to get this treatment. In fact anything even half related to Keith Hill they despise.

Wiseman was booed by the odd few because he was awful for us and was very uncomplimentary about the club when he left. I didn't personally boo him because I can't bring myself to give toss.

Nah, it's just the ones that were terrible and who were uncomplimentary toward the club/fans. Which is nearly all of them.

Most (not all) of your fans take the view that it was Hill's fault you got relegated, yet his sacking was miles before the eventual relegation, after a wonderful end to the season under Flitcroft. How on earth some come to that conclusion that it's all Hill's fault is beyond me. And the consequential hatred towards most of the players Hill brought in has stayed with most of your fans ever since. However if it is as you say over certain comments then fair enough but I know from last seasons meetings and reading through forums that most of the hatred transpires from your hatred of Keith himself.

"Most" of our fans don't blame Hill for our eventual relegation, that had been coming a long time given the long list of poor decisions by our board. But they do remember him making some very negative comments directed toward the club and fans, basically telling them they were in the wrong by daring to complain at the pathetic run of results that led to us being statistically the worst club in the football league in 2012, whilst describing his job as"like walking a tightrope with two broken legs". Basically, nothing was his fault and that grated on some fans.

As I said, personally I don't give a toss. I just want to have a good day out on Saturday and get 3 points.

He was in charge for one of my most memorable away days watching Barnsley in his defence.

Birmingham 5-0 away 2012? Brilliant day that in fairness.

In all honesty, I quite like seeing Rochdale do well as there's no way they should be competing to be promoted from League One with their crowds and budget. All well and good new money scumbags like Bournemouth managing it but it takes a good manager and group of players to have a club like Rochdale (with the greatest of respect) competing. I wish them well for after Saturday.

Ah, wish I'd been there for that one. And he did have us playing some great football with Vaz Te, Drinkwater, Butterfield etc. at that time, just couldn't do anything to stop the rot after they left and consequently chucked the toys out his pram.

Hope we go at them with the same tempo we did against Everton last night. Fantastic game and atmosphere that should've given the lads a boost, although they'll probably still be knackered come Saturday.

If you put in a performance like you did vs Everton then we're in trouble. I can't see it happening back to back though.

We've signed Mendez-laing this week but he'll be on the bench.

Enjoy your day gents.

He recruited well, but Barnsley couldnt afford Vaz Te, Drinkwater etc.

He had a poor budget, built a team with mostly average players and talent like the above, using his managerial skill to have Barnsley punching above their weight.

I should know, i had a wedge on Barnsley on handicap and pro rata they were 8 points above any other team at Xmas.

The stars left because the money wasn't there, the average players couldn't cope and 2012 began.

The rest was history.

The best manager for Rochdale managed to get Rochdale above the club where he had been the worst manager last season.

Was the problems with him or with Barnsley?

I think both Barnsley's recent history and Dale's double fortunes under Hill would point to the latter.

All history anyway.

Onto tomorrow, i'd take a point as i see Barnsley as a top 4 team this year

Fully deserved 3-0 win. It could have been 4 or 5 but that would've been a bit harsh.

I thought Barnsley were really poor. Calvin Andrew won everything in the air and dominated the central defenders. He held the ball up excellently. Allen didn't give the ball away and Rafferty protected the back four really well.
Lillis made one save in the second half and that was it.
The amount of times Barnsley played the ball over the top to nobody was really poor.

The Barnsley fans were more concerned about putting a plant pot on each other's head at the end. That must be pretty demoralising for the team.
