We will be playing in our infamous Purple kit, the same kit whereby we lost 5-0 to Cheltenham!

Only trouble being the fee that spurs would get, I'm sure I have read that they are on 40% on anything over 400000 that we get.
Blades fans , what s the weather like up there, and could the match be called off?

About 6/8 inch of snow at the minute which is not going to melt the pitch will be fine just wether or not they call it off for health and safety bollox for being a bit slippy round the ground. They probably will do

If it does get called off and we beat preston on tuesday that would mean the bristol city and notts county games would be off as the man utd/cambridge game is on the monday night we could end up with about 6 games in hand on teams

To those up north, any danger of a postponement?

club saying the pitch should be fine, as bladesman says it depends on H&S around the ground. Whoever decides if games go ahead likes to call ours off the slightest covering of anything resembling snow for some reason.

We've sold 830 tickets for this and the all-ticket for away fans has now been lifted so weather permitting, we should have 1k + in Bramhall ;) Lane on Saturday. COYR!

I guess Sheffield United away is seen as a good away trip for one of the northern journeys for us. Big stadium, decent home support, quite good train links, good bars, nice big City etc. I would have gone but chose Crewe away instead as that is easier to get to! (fairweather fan ain't I!)

Wouldn't be too down heartened with a draw. That said, our away form has been immense so if we can come away from this test with 3 points i'll be delighted!

If we do lose any slim hopes we have of automatic promotion are over

Not great coming off a break like we have had. Don't think it's good tbh. Blades will be lifted by signings, cups etc.

Might have been the telly but they did look like I team of umper lumpers so we could get some joy from set pieces. It's on days like this where I wish they did Internet pay-per-view

Would take a draw

That is some depth. The rest of the teams in League 1 could only dream of that.

Were fucking 9th in the league could be in the bottom half after today im stunned at the team selection

10 changes means a large squad, but it doesn't mean strength in depth. Except for teams in the top European Leagues, I've never known a team to be successful with large changes in players from game to game. It's not how good the individual players are, and there are some very good players I think in this SheffUtd starting eleven today, rather it's how they play as a team and how they approach the match mentally.

I'm going with a comfortable Swindon win, 3-1.

Crosses fingers.

clough managed to pull it off time and again last season so fingers crossed its a bit of genius again. Cant imagine Swindon were expecting that.

however we are playing top of the league so it does seem suicidal. Fingers crossed.

I feel a little sorry for you United fans, I wouldn't want Clough anywhere near my club. Boring, mid table manager.

Ah well, if Clough is doing it regularly, then maybe the mental aspect is not such a problem.

Crosses fingers even harder.

Does he think the Preston cup game is more important - with the Man U carrot - than cementing a PO place?
