So for the second game running we travel to the team sitting at the top of the table. Not a prospect that immediately strikes fear into me...... We have a very good record when playing teams at the top of the table.
Predicting a tough game for both sides. Be interesting how our loan signing Dave Winfield from York City fits in at centre half. Disappointed for young Will Nightingale being out for 6 weeks as he looked like he was forming a solid partnership with Oshilaja. Phillips did well as replacement until his red card at Burton on Tuesday.
Shrewsbury previously unbeaten at home and I'll be happy if it stays that way..... Providing we don't get beat.
Happily take a draw from this game. Although I can see us nicking a goal and coming away with all 3 points.

Winfield is an interesting signing. He's someone I wouldn't want near our side if we were in the conference.

Hoping we can win and stay top for once and perhaps even build a lead at the top.

Shrews 3-0 dons

We are on good form at moment but have problems at CB are all can see. Would love a point here but we may just be edged out here.
An optimistic me says 1 - 1 but we may well lose 1 nil.

Just found the famous Winfield moment on YouTube.

Skip to 10:30. A poor mans John Terry!

Interesting how every home game opposition fans think there team is going to be the one that gets the win to break our home record which will happen eventually. Closest have been Tranmere in the our first home game of the season (when we did what we did to Carlisle on Tuesday night) followed by Southend last week. The rest have not come close to be honest!

As soon as Shea went off we were done. A young keeper on debut off bench and we were resting akinfenwa. I think Ards has chosen this game am to rest as we were unlikely to get anything.

Easy win in the end. 3-0 probably would have been a fair result. Pleasing to see a couple of games went our way too.

I didn't go today but that's not quite how it was reported to me. Good for chunks of the game but lost it a bit when Shea went off.

I expect Shrewsbury to win the league, as they should with the top budget...

Sounds a tad bitter at the end. You make it sound like winning the league is a given because we've spent a bit of dosh. I'm fairly certain our budget is outside the top 3 still. Our january business wouldn't have decimated the funds either, we're probably spending about the same on wages: Barnett, Southern and the lad from Sunderland on loan in, whilst Griffith, McAllister left permanently and Caton, Wildig, Burton and Dom Smith are now out on loan. We've always ran a fairly tight ship and we're one of the few football league clubs without any debt.

I thought the reserve Wimbledon keeper did very well and was very assured and excellent in the way he collected some testing crosses. Wimbledon rarely threatened.

I don't know about top budget but we are a well run club with no debt and a very good manager who it would appear has used his budget wisely!

For you Wombles, just thought you might be interested to hear there were only 321 MK fans at Gillingham yesterday, embarrassingly low for a team going for automatic promotion and less than 2 hours drive away. They were very quiet and were finally stirred into life by the Rainham End singing 'Franchise, franchise, give us a song', and then they were taunted by a mass chorus of 'AFC Wimbledon' on quite a few occasions. True club with true fans.
