Barring a miracle, Barnsley are gone. So it looks like 2 from Wigan, Hull, Luton and Charlton. Tomorrow’s fixtures look good: Charlton v Wigan and Hull v Luton.

I was going to post about an hour before last night's game that someone would pull off the unlikeliest of the unlikely result in the next two games. There we had it last night - even more surprising after their shitshow last Friday. WBA were very efficient in both games against us and presumably others; I really didn't see that result coming.

If it weren't obvious, we need to win today. Otherwise we are toast. It is almost a relegation play off today.

Not sure what I want to happen in Charlton v Wigan - perhaps a Wigan victory or draw will give us a better opportunity, but we just need to concentrate on our own result. 49 points, in my eyes, will still be enough.

We’re going into this game as favourites based on current form....
Certainly a banana skin waiting for us...
Prefer the label of underdogs which has helped us in the past....
Two teams shitting themselves...don’t bode well for either of us I fear....

Well, if Luton goes down in 2021 they'll lift the League One trophy... But its a shame that Wycombe Wanderers plays in a higher division then Luton next season

As hurtful and embarrassing the 7 0 tonking we got at griffin park was... it certainly was an indicator of the gap in class between us...
Good luck today Brentford

Luton fans need not worry, you’ll beat us on Wednesday and hopefully stay up.

Luton Hull has been horrendous. One of the worst games I’ve seen. We just aren’t used to going out and taking the game to a team any longer and it’s shown here as Hull are asking us to do that and we can’t.

Hull are just letting us have the ball knowing full well we don’t have the quality to break a team down at this level. Hull are looking for a set piece or throw in and have looked dangerous on a few.

Struggling to see where we will get a goal from but can see Hull getting one from a set piece.

Luton score.

And a win or draw v Blackburn will probably see them safe.

Charlton away to Leeds and Wigan v Fulham.

Second half we were superb i thought, full value for the 3 points. Having said that, before the goal I was wondering if would be one of those days, missed 2 or 3 excellent chances and time seemed to be slipping aaway from us. The LuaLua scuffs one in from 20 yards or so.

The changes Jones made to bring on LuaLua and Hylton were spot on, both were superb but LuaLua was unbeliveable, Hull simply couldnt get the ball off him

McCann being shown up for the awful manager he is - confirming what we knew all along, that Bowen and Grosicki carried that team. In fairness, the owners really have left him in the shit.

Luton should be fine. Leeds should beat Charlton unless Bielsa allows a three day drinking binge, which you'd feel is unlikely. Point at Blackburn sees it done I reckon.

Kazenga you beautttyyyy!

Leeds screwed us in 1975. Screwed us, Rotherham and Bournemouth in 2007 by setting that precedent and you have Lee Bowyer in charge at Charlton...

By the way, how fortunate was Collins. He should've seen red, but the referee booked him so he cannot be cited after the game.

What a fuck up it's going to be at the bottom if the Wigan appeal and Sheffield Wednesday decision aren't made quickly.

Macclesfield are also waiting on a decision after the EFL appealed their punishment and that one is unlike to be heard until the beginning of August.

...and Derby.
And I can see Barnsley taking legal action if Birmingham are saved too after their non punishment.

It is ridiculous to be in this situation now.

Forgot about Derby.

Tbh, the whole thing sums the Championship up. It's been a ticking time bomb for years and the ticks are getting fewer and fewer.

Hull were also incredibly naive in the last 10-15 minutes. Chasing the game, actually making it easy for Luton to defend by constantly fouling them! I have a feeling that was their gameplan today, just rough up Luton playing away from home, use the battering ram Eaves and nick a goal on the break. Yet didn't have a shot on target apart from the cross early in the game which Sluga tipped over.

Thought they were incredibly poor, tactics were bizarre - I felt like it was only us that was actually trying to win the game, they played like a side who would be happy to take the point. Didnt even have the pace on the break to really hurt us and Bradley/CCV dominated Eaves so it was just a waste of time. Dont know why they didnt change it. Not that i'm complaining!

If Huddersfield and Stoke can beat WBA and Brentford then Charlton can draw/win at Leeds. Re. Fulham, they need not one but two sides to slip up and two games going their way is not that likely, and I can see Wigan beating them. I don't think a draw for Luton would be enough due to their poor GD.

We absolutely need to go into the Blackburn game with the mindset that we need to win, we we would be pretty unlucky for both Wigan and Charlton to win there games given the opposition but the league is just mental so you never know. Im only really worried about Charlton/Leeds as I want us to stay up on merit rather than leaving it up to whether the EFL are going to respect there own rules or not (clue: they wont!)

I like how Jones hasnt seemed to pay much attention to other results and we need to continue focusing on our performance on Wednesday.

Current situation if all points deductions are handed out...

Note, Wigan don't appear because they'd be out of the bottom three under this scenario...

I really cannot see Wednesday getting deducted that many points. They will do what happened with Birmingham last season and deduct enough so as they are not relegated and no more.

Barnsley 95th minute winner!

8 teams still can go down depending on points deductions. What a last day in prospect.

That's what you get when you play for a nil nil Forest. Fully deserved win for Barnsley but it will probably be all for nowt.
