Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere but what sort of punishment is in store for Sheff Wed et al? Are we talking points deduction, and if so, what are you folks expecting? A 'no harm done' 5 points deduction or much worse?

So many late goals in these games the whole season is going down to the wire - Wednesday is going to be a real nail biter.

EFL surely need to expedite decisions RE the Wigan appeal and Sheffield Wednesday. Teams need to know the stakes and what they are playing for. You could think a draw is enough but find out after the game is long over you needed the win - it’s ridiculous.

21 points.
9 for deception per the precedent set by Brum last year and 12 per the tariff for FFP.

Charlton have got to hope Luton don't pick up anything because away at Leeds is the last thing they need.

Leeds are going to be on the piss all week though so and tinfoil hat on now, there is the Bowyer connection there! Wouldn’t surprise me if they play a load of fringe players. Some comments from Mowbray at Blackburn are they might do the same though.

Got a feeling we won’t win but will get a point and have to hope Leeds and Fulham help us out. I really, really want us out of the relegation zone and not worrying about the points deductions of Wigan. Could see the FA screwing us if that happened.

That’s the maximum they could take. I’m fairly sure they won’t take that though, I think they will announce something at some point after Wednesday that means they get deducted enough points to leave them just out of the relegation zone.

EFL statement seems to contradict that headline by the Mail (in a shocking turn of events!), at least in Wigans case.

"In the specific case of Wednesday evening’s final round of Championship matches for season 2019/20, and any potential impact on divisional standings, relegation will be confirmed for the Clubs in 22nd, 23rd and 24th positions in the Championship table following the conclusion of those matches and will be subject to the resolution of any ongoing proceedings. In the case of Wigan Athletic the 12-point sporting sanction, as a result of the Club entering administration, will apply immediately following the end of the game against Fulham but is subject to appeal."

Seems like passing of the buck to the commission which may be a fair thing for the EFL to do. Id still be nervous about that "subject to appeal" though.

When did this independent commissions come in? I dont recall it when we were getting fucked over by the EFL and FA? They dont seem very fit for purpose given some of there other rulings and the time being taken to hear these things. The Wednesday thing has been ongoing since before Christmas let alone pre-covid.

Its really unacceptable that whoever gets relegated Wednesday may not know what division to plan for. There doesn't even seem to be timeline on any of these things.

Was trying to rationalise relegation in my mind just to prepare myself for it this evening. I’d be disappointed but it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Rebuild a little in League 1 with NJ back at the helm wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. It’s a more sensible financial level for us right now. We would more than likely struggle next season just because we’d be over a month behind other League 1 sides in preparation though so next season might be a bit rocky.

Having said that, I bloody hope we do it and stay up -the clubs given it there best shot and I really hope that’s rewarded. Would be an amazing achievement.

It would be pretty bad. To get so close when we were so far away a few weeks back. If we can survive the Championships gonna be the Wild Wild West next season. Rife with clubs starting with points deductions, admins, no money, big boys cutting the cloth so they arent. Hell maybe even the EFL will get a grip...errr ok.

We could really establish ourselves. We will. We're staying up. Boxing Day in Hertfordshire. COYH

You still do have to face the all too powerful WWFC.

So will relegation be decided tonight or in the EFL offices?

This Division is crazy. Barnsley were dead a few days ago.
